Strange thing about Rory is that he switched to left-hand low putting, won, then switched back. Never quite understood that. Seems a little lost these days although he has the occasional great round that reminds you how good he can be.

Also I know Johnny Miller took some heat for saying Rory was focusing too much on the gym, but I don't think he's wrong.

I wasn't paying close attention but the talking heads on GC spent a long time yesterday breaking down Rory's putting. Whoever the "expert" was concluded, I think, that he was effectively blocking his putts instead of letting the putter head release like he used to.

Well, good point to point that out. I hadn't fully realized how improbable it might be. I wonder what a parlay would pay? Willet was 55/1, DJ 12/1, Stenson I think 3/1 (going into weekend), Day 10/1.

I think it's nearly 20,000 to 1. LOL. Those superfectas get up there. Sick. Lucky. And a dash of brilliance.

Is he doing huge workouts and running mega miles?? It isn't particularly good for golf and terrible for durability.

Does Johnny have insight into what Rory's workout routine consists of? Rory is strong but he's not bodybuilder strong or anything close to it.

I wonder how much he's been practicing compared to hanging with his fiance and preparing for the wedding. He's never been known as a top tier grinder.

terrible the way that idiot yelled at the top of the japanese player - playing with speith - backswing....

seriously think golf needs to clean that up really badly....... some would argue it's difficult to do but at the end of the day i don't think so. i can't yell like that at all kinds of events. make golf tournaments one on them. yelling as part of hundreds of thousands making huge noise is fine........... or just cut off alcohol sales.

Agree. Alcohol is going nowhere. Too profitable. They've been suggesting this for years at the big four sporting events without making a dent.

The few golf tournaments I've been to if you're only drinking on the property you basically need to be there all damn day to get drunk. If you stop alcohol sales it will only increase people pre gaming and going even harder before going in, could even possibly create an even drunker atmosphere.

I followed Rory around when the BMW was at Cherry Hills the other year, and he was fit but I didn't think he was huge or super bulky or anything. Wouldn't be surprised if he just doesn't practice as much as other top 3/5/10 players.

No he's not bodybuilder huge but certainly a lot bigger than he was a couple of years ago when he was dominating. He's got a pretty intense workout regimen and it might take time away from practice, which he's not a big fan of to begin with.

He was already bombing it a mile so I'm not sure what all the weights were supposed to improve. I think it's more about appearance, he's a young guy and wants to look good. Nothing wrong with that but his golf seems to be getting worse as his physique gets better.

You guys see this piece on how Daly got into the PGA? Like half a dozen tour pros flat out didn't want to play in a major, what the ****? Half had real reasons the other half were like "nah I'm good I'll hang out at home this weekend" for a major!

Starting to drizzle now. Today could be like yesterday. The NYC area has a flash flood warning in effect today. A Monday finish is almost a certainty (heck, there's a very small chance we could have a Tuesday finish).

I am struggling to understand how Jason Day doesn't win every tournament. Literally carries his driver 320. Phenomenal short irons. Best or second best putter in the world. Top 5 chip/pitch guy. Really feels like he is at the start of a GOATish Tiger/Jack run.

Looks like we're getting a break with the front coming through. They showed the doppler and the system is moving through quickly, and nothing appears to be directly behind it.

Good news.

Stenson looked yippy on that 6 footer he just missed for par on #10.
