Ok back from Palm Springs and here are my reviews

Shadow Ridge
- Wow Durango thanks for the suggestion. This was a great course and challenging as well. Bunkers everywhere. Club house was great also best meal at the courses. This would be one of my favs

Indian Canyons Nothing Special. It was OK but if I came back would not play again

Merriots Desert Valley Excellent course. Last year we played the palms course and loved it. If I had to book a Hotel close to a course this would be it. Two of us played another 18 in the 98 heat and high humidity. ATe there pricey and OK at the Turf Grill

Indian Wells Celbrity What a treat very friendly and shot the round of the year 88 25 handicapper) Very Nice Clubhouse one of my favs

Escena Newest course in Palm Springs. I enjoyed it but needs a few years to grow in. Really nice clubhouse also

Westin Mission Hills
Expected so much more. Tough to rate this course as the rough was so high if you hit into it you lost your ball. Its almost like they were getting ready for over seeeding and letting the course go. Me least favorite Also the clubhouse was a metal shack cafe. Boo

Classic Club Wec added this Saturday and what a treat. One of me favorites. The traps were not great but no fault of the course due to the flash floods Monday. Great Clubhouse

If I went back courses I play again in a heartbeat.
Shadowridge
Marriot
Indian Wells
Classic Club

We rented a house this trip and loved that as well

Shadow Ridge, how did you fare on the 18th hole? I can't decide whether I want to make sweet love to that hole or dig it up with a backhoe.

Good to hear about the Valley course at the hotel. We play both courses every year during our event, although I've missed the last couple of years. Last I was there Valley was closed for an extensive remodel. It was already a fun layout - probably more enjoyable than its older brother, Palm - but I could see where the bunkers and other areas needed some updating.

Classic Club, absolutely love as I have posted about itt and elsewhere.

I got lucky and Bogeyed it. I liked it. Though I seemed to hit every trap around the green.

Marriot just runs a great show

As for Classic Club you felt special they treated you well and the course was challenging enough but still playable

The Westin was my least favorite. Though if they mowed their rough I may like it. The clubhouse just sucked

Which Westin course? Sounds like the Gary Player, sometimes called Mission Hills north? the course seems like an afterthought, its nice, adjacent to the rest of the resort and CC but on a different street and you cant access any of the resort from the facility.

Correct. The clubhouse was horrible and any drive off the fairway you would be lucky yo find as the grass was so deep and fine

Just drove by the Gary Player course this morning, and you were correct. Course is closed for overseeing now.

Though I reviewed their course poorly and was offered a free round from the manager

Now it makes sense why they let the grass grow so long

One of the guys from the group did head back 6 months later. I e-mailed the manager and he gave him and his wife a free round. Buddy said the course was very nice and we just caught it a bad time

We just switched out PGA west stadium for the Nicklaus tournament course at PGA west. We played stadium last year so decided to check out one of the other tracks.
