Interesting bet, where did you find it? I ran a pretty legit simulation that takes skill level and the cut into account, and the average probability for the top 50 guys in the field to improve all 4 rounds was 2.04%, making this a slightly +EV Bet at 50-1 for those guys. It's harder to do at the bottom of the field because shooting 80-78 sets you up well for improvement but you aren't going to make the cut.

is there any athlete that's had more pure excitement than phil?

i was background watching that round today... i had no idea a) that putt was on 18; b) that putt was for new major scoring record c) that the putt missed. i was wondering why phil was upset........

do people remember san diego tourney - i think - where they cleared spectators and the way for his 70 yard pitch to tie? and he almost made it. could any other sports star have made that credible?

i know TW was much better but i'm just judging pure drama.

Phil is really having a good year. 5th in scoring average, 4th in SG putting, 4th in SG overall, 16th in SG tee-to-green, 5 top-10 finishes.

He may be 46 but he's still got game! Gotta be rooting for Phil here.
