Just seems unnecessary to me. 11 was hard because of the conditions. The front of the green slopes a decent amount back to front and you are about 230 to the front edge. So for me I am hitting a 4iron downhill landing on a downslope. you can play short left to an area that is about 10-15 yards wide but if you go to far on that line you are dead and if you are right you end up in bunkers that are probably 5-6 feet deep and short of the front edge. It would be a hard hole in regular conditions (we played with greens around 12.5 on stimp and very firm...Augusta was softer), so in the conditions there was very little room to hit it. The hole would have been tough enough being 200-225 center instead of the 265 it played in one of the rounds. I really liked the rest of the course, it was just those two holes I thought could be better. In general I am not a fan of stupid long par 3s.
I believe in round 3 we played the course all the way back...18 was 500, 7 285, 11 was 265.
Yes exactly
LACC was notorious for having zero notoriety. No members from entertainment industry and certainly no minorities/Jews. Relaxed that over the past 10 years (still token, but enough not to have to suffer under media glare). Walker Cup on the way and I would not be surprised if a US Open is played there. Epic clubhouse and solid practice area (2 sides).
Hole 2 they converted from Par 5 to Par 4. Too easy with two opening Par 5s. I would bet you hit hole one in two shots at least one day.
Agree with par 3s. Hole 9 is fair and 15 is super short.
Congrats again. Go Bears!!!
