Do they make you use a club caddy? Could you have used a friend if you wanted to?

This is probably a stupid question but did you have to pay the club caddy for his services throughout the week?

I could take any caddy I wanted, and I was responsible for paying the club caddy.

Just wanted to say great job stands, really cool of you to come in here and field these questions. The Masters has always been by far my favorite event and to get to hear unedited thoughts is cool. I've been able to talk to chad Campbell and Harrison about their experiences there but they both have so much Tour experience they are a little jaded to reality. To hear the thoughts from a guy out there for the first time is really fun.

Great job again, and use the experience and confidence well at the Open. Feel free to browse my thread on playing the US Open for some pointers....ha! Had to get my subtle brag in there somewhere.

Awesome job at Lacc. Go bears!

Can't believe someone shot a 61 there. What did you think of redesign? I played there last month in team play.

Did you play tips?

Did the masters give you epic confidence?

Our guy is T-3 (-2) six shots back of his teammate. As a team they are 2 shots ahead of UCLA. Final round underway Cal starts around noon Eastern. Update here http://www.golfstatresults.com//publ...nament_id=4222

other dude shot a 61 in the first round? okay then!

Looking at golfstat leaderboards takes me back. I used to just sit there and hit reload over and over again when my wife was in college. They updated like every 4 holes or something.

Are those numbers to the left of a golfer their national ranking or something?

I never played LACC before the redesign so it's all I know. I think the par 3's (7 and 11) are a little much. In round 3 we played 7 at 285, granted the pin was pretty easy dead center of the green but my teammate and another guy in the group in from of me hit driver. Just seems unnecessary to me. 11 was hard because of the conditions. The front of the green slopes a decent amount back to front and you are about 230 to the front edge. So for me I am hitting a 4iron downhill landing on a downslope. you can play short left to an area that is about 10-15 yards wide but if you go to far on that line you are dead and if you are right you end up in bunkers that are probably 5-6 feet deep and short of the front edge. It would be a hard hole in regular conditions (we played with greens around 12.5 on stimp and very firm...Augusta was softer), so in the conditions there was very little room to hit it. The hole would have been tough enough being 200-225 center instead of the 265 it played in one of the rounds. I really liked the rest of the course, it was just those two holes I thought could be better. In general I am not a fan of stupid long par 3s.

I believe in round 3 we played the course all the way back...18 was 500, 7 285, 11 was 265.

Yes exactly
LACC was notorious for having zero notoriety. No members from entertainment industry and certainly no minorities/Jews. Relaxed that over the past 10 years (still token, but enough not to have to suffer under media glare). Walker Cup on the way and I would not be surprised if a US Open is played there. Epic clubhouse and solid practice area (2 sides).

Hole 2 they converted from Par 5 to Par 4. Too easy with two opening Par 5s. I would bet you hit hole one in two shots at least one day.

Agree with par 3s. Hole 9 is fair and 15 is super short.

Congrats again. Go Bears!!!

Yes 1 is short and a gimmie birdie if you hit a good drive. LACC was designed by same guy as Riviera, and both start off with a really easy par 5. I hit 1 in 2 twice and the other two rounds my ball stopped just short of the front edge, just didnt get the bounce up. I hit 5 iron in 3 times and 6 iron in once. And for me hole 2 was driver 7 or 8 iron. Go Bears!

Is next stop the NCAA championships?

Is this your last year in school and if so, what are your plans (summer Am schedule, when will you turn pro)?

What is your major? Do they still have P.E.I.S.? That was my major which was pretty cool. Can create your own curriculum.

We have NCAA regionals next week up in Washington, then assuming we top 5 at regionals we will go to nationals at the end of the month.

I am a junior for eligibility so I will play amateur events during the summer and hopefully make the Walker Cup team. I will play next year and after I graduate I will turn pro, but as far as the summer following my senior year I haven't made any plans yet or given it too much thought.

I am a business major in Haas. They still have PEIS, I believe it is similar to ISF or American Studies where you can choose the concentration and have freedom with classes but I don't know of anyone in the major so can't say for sure.

Hey stadler, just catching up with your masters TR. Sounds like an absolutely amazing experience.

Do you qualify for the Open this year or just the US Open?
