Of course it is!

Flew over it today on a helicopter. Some amazing views of lots of courses around Scotland.

This thread should not die imo.

Here's one from El Plantio GC near Alicante in Spain last September:

Is the green at Bay Hill #18 as scary as it is in TW golf?

Any pin left is easy peasy. From the gap in the bunkers and right it looks like the pin is in the water. Green is moderately sloped, nothing dramatic.

Having played it both ways, I will say that without the grandstands there the hole loses some of it's intimidation imo.

Great pictures! That course looks ridiculously tight

to be honest it wasn't that tight because the rough was pretty thick so it stopped any bad shots most of the time. flagstaff ranch was far narrower than pine canyon...most of the hard shots are up around the green with the quick fast greens

6th hole tee box (a par 4) at Falcon Ridge GC, Mesquite, NV. It was a lot steeper than it looks in the pic. Many of the holes at Falcon Ridge have tees with extreme elevation changes which I don't care for. But the course itself was nice.

as I said in my other post the first set of pictures is flagstaff ranch and yes it was far narrower than pine canyon...both courses didn't feel that narrow though. I guess the pine trees frame a course better than desert here in AZ lol

702 - nice pic..I have only played wolf creek in mesquite and it was the same thing..from the tips the forced carries and elevation were absolutely crazy. It was like playing a video game

Couple from my OC, MD trip last week:

#5 at Lighthouse Sound. That's ~80th street in OC across the bay. Par 3 out to the point, with the tee for #6 behind it that is literally on the edge of the bay.

#4 at Lighthouse and OC, MD in background. Par 4 out to the edge with no room right or long.

#8 at Rum Pointe. Hard wind blew off the water all round. 3 shot par 5.

#18 on left, 9 on right at Rum Pointe. Both are about 380 Par 4's.

#16 at Rum Pointe. Basically the opposite direction of #8 and a par 4. Aimed well out over the water, and my draw caught the wind and finished over the cart path. Both myself and my friend finished left of the green with our 2nd shots. This is a Pete/PB Dye course and we were left of the chipping area Dye likes to put around greens on a mound with downhill lies, chipping to an elevated green running hard away from us, with water long, and into a 20-30 MPH wind. Wasn't easy.

I'm back visiting family now near Frederick, MD. The best course in the area, in my opinion, is The Links at Gettysburg. Here's hole 8, a driveable par 4. It was a little soft and my tee ball plugged in the fairway just short of the green:

yeah the newish mesquite golf courses are all these crazy elevation change courses built into the surrounding terrain. wolf creek is supposed to be the best of the bunch (I haven't played it) but also the toughest from what I've heard.

Play wolf creek from the tips or one up from the tips and you'll be exhausted just walking up to the tee boxes there's so many stairs it's crazy

There are clouds in AZ? I thought I heard they put up a fence to stop them from coming over illegally. Nice pics though.

Rexx lol, this is Flagstaff AZ so it's much different than Phoenix. It's basically 6500-7000 ft in elevation so it's about 30 degrees cooler than Phoenix. This time of the year, almost every day the hot desert air mixes with the cool air from the mountains and causes a chance for afternoon storms almost every day. It's a pretty damn nice place to escape for the weekend when it's 115-120 degrees down here in Phoenix in the dead of the summer.

Played Pebble Beach in May. Stayed at the Lodge, and our view was pretty sweet:

That would be the first tee. Spent a lot of time watching people take their nervous first shot. Only one hit our balcony while we were there.

Not golf, but my view from the elliptical at the beach club:

Lone cypress that isn't really the official Lone Cypress:

Standing on the cliff's edge on 8:

Hit the shot I'm most proud of there. Hit a bad drive and since I'm not the smartest golfer in the world went for the pin with a five wood, ended up about 10 feet.

Me teeing off on, uh, 13 maybe?

Looking down 18:

Par from the fairway sand trap on 18 for a 91. Goal was to break 90, so I was a little disappointed. I was in more sand traps that day then I'd been in the entire five years before, collectively.
