Without knowing the immediate surroundings it could be a good venue from an accessibility standpoint - parking and attendance. Since the course is wholly contained within itself it is easy to get around the property and it can handle large crowds. It's just so goddamned unimaginative, and made worse by all the better courses in the area they could play.
(There is also I imagine some sort of politics involved. There may be better venues but for various non-golf reasons they choose this one.)

I told you I'd take the bet with other people but not you. You are annoying and entering into a monetary exchange with you and increasing your exposure to me will not enrich my life.
As for Tiger's health, Bill Walton would have been the GOAT if he could have stayed healthy. But he couldn't. On the plus side we will always have 1977 and 1986.
