And now on to the Sony, one of the least compelling tour stops all year and a total waste of a trip to Hawaii. zzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZ.

So does that mean you enjoy dudes lining up to tongue your bunghole? Interesting.

I said I'd feel special if dudes lined up to toss my salad, as would you. I never said anything about liking it.

Well you'll probably never have to worry about it.

I agree, I've wondered why they keep going to Waialae. I've never been to Hawaii, but I'd imagine there are better courses available. I'm sure there are some resort courses that would love to have the exposure.

12 years? He was a dominant #1 in 2009(conveniently the only season in the past 4 where he was actually healthy all year).

I mean put your money where your mouth is? I will let you pick anyone out of the handful of players you think are better than Tiger and do a heads-to-head every tournament they play together.

In before you tuq your tail and decline the bet.

Without knowing the immediate surroundings it could be a good venue from an accessibility standpoint - parking and attendance. Since the course is wholly contained within itself it is easy to get around the property and it can handle large crowds. It's just so goddamned unimaginative, and made worse by all the better courses in the area they could play.

(There is also I imagine some sort of politics involved. There may be better venues but for various non-golf reasons they choose this one.)

I told you I'd take the bet with other people but not you. You are annoying and entering into a monetary exchange with you and increasing your exposure to me will not enrich my life.

As for Tiger's health, Bill Walton would have been the GOAT if he could have stayed healthy. But he couldn't. On the plus side we will always have 1977 and 1986.

It's an accessibility and infrastructure issue, same as the (British) Open. The Kaanapali/Kapalua area of Maui as well as maybe the Princeville area of Kauai are the only parts of Hawaii in addition to the Honolulu area a PGA Tour event could be held. There are many courses in Scotland better than the English courses currently in the rota that have no infrastructure.

For example, Turtle Bay on the North Shore of Oahu has two great courses and amazing scenery. But it would be next to impossible to have a PGA Tour event there. It has held LPGA events Champions Tour events, and multiple PGA Tour qualifiers however.

There are ways of doing it if the event were important enough. Pebble Beach is a good example.

You think? Are you familiar with the Turtle Bay area? If so, how would you handle traffic and parking for starters? Not to mention lodging.

Worlds of difference between Turtle Bay and the Monterrey Peninsula.

Re: Official 2012 PGA Tour (non-majors) discussion thread

Well, even if Turtle Bay is on the far side of the island and surrounded by active volcanoes and no parking the point is that there are probably more compelling, accessible venues somewhere over there that can be played instead. But they've played here for a really long time and it's a very easy setup w/r/t corporate tents etc. and the pros don't seem to hate it so there's probably not a rush to switch to a course which is more viewer-friendly.
