Watching the replay tonight...don't even recognize this course. Easy to understand why though, there is actual sunlight. Aside from moments of hazy sunshine during the Monday finish back in 2009 I don't recall the sun shining at any point in any of the previous Open rounds. Gives it a different look.

I see the 18th is playing to 411 yards today. Hopefully they'll shorten it way up to troll the pros like they did in 2009, when almost everyone played the hole incorrectly.

Assuming it stays soft out, the winning score is going to be super deep. Bethpage just isn't that difficult in these conditions. Fairways are huge, greens are flat.

If they were thinking they would have used a long iron to lay back to about 110-120 and then had a wedge in which they could spin and have some chance of getting close. But almost nobody did, a and a short hole with no water hazard or other tricks yielded virtually no birdies and almost all pars.

Like the playoffs for what they create, especially with how they do the pairings for the events. You get a lot of powerhouse groups on Thursday and Friday.

What are the cons/downside to having them?

Groupings don't really do anything for me. As long as they are in the tournament then it's great.

Don't really have anything bad to say, it's just I don't really care about the points or standings. I don't watch the tournament and think "oh this guy needs to finish here in order to get this number of points" etc... It's a normal golf tournament to me, I just want it to be a good one.

A lot of guys will be on the bubble every week, and sometimes they will have a putt on the 72nd hole that determines if they get to play the next week or not. How does that not add any excitement?

No but he is really good

At the beginning of the year a couple years ago he was on a roll and people were predicting big things from him, kind of like a young Adam Scott type. He's done well, but not that well.
