On a par 3 the stone is going to be the yardage on the card 99.9% of the time.

Re: MISC/RANDOM/BS Golf Chatter Thread

I'm playing the Oakland Hills South Course tomorrow... very excited. We have a certificate that I won at an outing last year.. would you expect that we would be able to use the driving range? I assume so, but I really don't know what to expect.

I'd bet you'd be allowed on range.

Wrap your brain around this stuff. Seriously would be curious to hear people's feedback. This guy discusses micromoves to the fullest. One is the Swing Shorten Cycles (SSC) which we can unknowingly attain at the top which almost automatically jerks the arms back down prematurely (from my understanding).

I think FJ's are overpriced and overhyped -- best experience with Nikes or Pumas but that's just through my personal experience (I walk 99% of my rounds)

I've been really happy with Adidas, I currently have a pair of Tour 360 ATV's and a pair of adiPURE Z. Never have any problems with them and I walk 99% of my rounds.

New Nike Free golf shoe comes out on the 9th. I'm pretty excited about it, love my Free's. I pre-ordered via Golfsmith.

Damn I'd love to get those as I have the running shoes too but I'm not sure I can justify spending $180 on golf shoes.

Re: MISC/RANDOM/BS Golf Chatter Thread

Was at a sporting goods store tonight and grabbed a lefty putter to practice some putts on their tiny green to see how it felt. Some guy comes up "another lefty...I thought I was the only one" with a smile and hops up with a lefty putter and addresses a putt. "I'm actually a righty but I'm so bad that I thought I would switch sides". "Ahhh". lol.

Re: MISC/RANDOM/BS Golf Chatter Thread

Strange ball flight with the irons today. Swing is obviously screwed up, but this was different:

V

Divot was going left \
Ball came off to the right /

Not a standard over the top slice, the ball didn't slice, it just started out right and stayed there. I might have gotten a yard of draw or fade but otherwise the shots were just straight ...

And short. Really short. Obviously not trapping/compressing the ball, but kind of at a loss at the moment as to what I'm doing that causes this. It's kinda funny because I'm hitting the driver and hybrid pretty well, it's just the irons that suck.

Re: MISC/RANDOM/BS Golf Chatter Thread

Are those called blocks? I hit a block once in a while but the next shot is usually fine. No idea what causes them, others will elaborate. Yeah my blocks are always weak and short but the "good" news is they don't deviate that far off line.
