Join a Men's club at one of your local courses. They'll have regular tournaments to play end, and then you'll end up getting to know some of the guys and playing other rounds.

Yup, call around and find a deal. Doesn't have to be a great track or anything.

Playing in Denver next week. What should I expect in terms of distances as compared to sea level?

About 7-10% more distance than sea level but it depends on your ballstriking in general.

I live in Denver and when I play at sea level I take 8% off my irons and that works perfect for me.

Where are you going to play?

Precise mental math required on the course. Roughly one club then.

Pine Needles (#68) or Mid Pines (#94) (Southern Pines, NC)
Troy Burne (#69, Hudson, WI)
Troy burne is excellent

What is the one club in your bag that you rarely miss? Shockingly enough it's my 4 iron. Long irons used to be the death of me but I love this damn thing. Straightest club in my bag that really saves me off the tee when I need it.

9i

Having a 4i be the favorite is pretty unusual. I don't even carry one anymore.

Gap wedge also. All my wedges mostly. Best part of my game is 80-125 yards from short grass with no wind.

that video reminds me of two guys that are part of the main rotation of weekend players in my group. i enjoy their company, but the amount of time they take standing over a shot is unbearable. ...i'm talking like somewhere around 30 seconds after they address the ball, just standing there like a statue. you're watching and as soon as you see the smallest bit of movement you think they're going to swing but you were wrong.
i have no clue what thoughts are running through their heads during that amount of time but based on their 15+ hc they can't be good. one of them even has a preshot routine that consists of several very good practice swings that look nothing like the actual horrible swing he makes when it counts.
this is the same guy that uses both a gps watch and laser to be doubly sure he didn't hit the ball as far as he intended to.

I dropped 3 balls with no forward momentum on the practice green, most of the greens on the course are like this, can't miss above the hole

Think I'm going to try and play the ladies tees this week. Never done it before and I'm kinda curious to see how different my score would be.

I shot 31 last time I did for 9, it is actually pretty fun as long as know one sees you doing it, then you won't ever stop hearing about it. Think it was from 2500 yards.

I'd probably score worse because I'd keep trying to drive the par 4s and go for the green in two on every par 5, no matter what.
