Is this forum active? I lurk here from time to time but can't really tell. I'm gonna try to chop like 25 strokes off my game and was kind of hoping to post swing videos a few times a week, maybe some round updates, etc. and I don't really have a blog or anything with an audience that would care about such things and be able to give intelligent feedback

Active enough, I had one of those threads back in the day with a lol video. Good times, but fell out of keeping up with it.

I'm having an issue with my hybrids. I hit them pure on par 5s when I'm hitting my 2nd shot, either laying up or going for it, but when I use them on a long par 4 when I'm trying to hit the green on my 2nd shot, or I'm teeing it up on a long par 3, I ****ing choke like a lil biyatch. These damn clubs were supposed to make this shot easier, not harder. I hit them so well on the par 5s, tho.

pretend all those shots on par 4s & 3s are a par 5 layup?

I have no idea what's going on with the par 4's, but sometimes teeing the ball too high on a par 3 can cause problems. Maybe hit them off the ground or tee it extremely low.

There's less pressure to hit it well on the par 5 because the successful result (having an eagle putt) is beyond expectations. If you don't succeed, it's no big deal because the par is 5 and you still have a legit chance for a birdie attempt in many cases.

I actually have the same problem with my 3wood and hybrid off the tee on short par 4s. To simulate the par 5 fairway shots, I'll often just hit the ground with the club to create sort of a flyer lie on the tee box instead of using a tee or hitting off whatever tee surface is presented. It's helped a lot and I know it's a mental problem.

Edit: They made it. Starts at 4p ET.

Muni He sighting in the Ladies NCAAs. She is playing for USC and (sadly) is still just 17. I didn't catch the morning matches so I hope USC advances.

If you have no idea who I'm talking about you are new to this board. Here is a reminder.

Also her USC bio:

Very good player.
She would play at our club with some regularity while in High School.

fyi, for anyone near vancouver, jamie sadlowski is signed up for monday's qualifier at swaneset.

given that he missed the cut in dallas i'd say decent chance he makes it although i bet he signed up for qualifier before he got his dallas sponsors exemption..

i'll probably go no matter what to watch for awhile as a couple of good acquaintences are playing

i'm caddying for the actual tourney next week in vancouver.

what were the clubs on all three? was the last one a full shot? you seemed to be smoother and a lot more comfortable there (with less extra movement) than the other two.

i also thought you were setting up pretty closed on the first two swings until i saw the alignment sticks on the third.

I think all 3 shots were pitching wedge. I'm aiming for the second green in the distance, but I do tend to get a little right with my alignment. Third shot was actually before the round and I was hitting the ball pretty decent until I hit the back 9 and lost all steam.

nice swing and very gutsy to put it on here.

you are picking the club up a bit when you stop turning and you are obv - i think - "over the top" but i assume anyone posting here who isn't elite will be OOT

i wouldn't change anything... i'll have to look at my swing on tape and see if i'll post it.

Thanks. I'm incredibly over the top and across the line and its getting worse. This is the worst ball striking I've had in years, but I know it will come around as my timing gets better. Believe it or not, I've been as low as a 5 index last year. Despite the bad fundamentals, I still get the ball around the course and have a decent enough short game.

I'm actually going to see a new pro for lessons next Friday, I'm too frustrated with the state of my game at the moment.

Yea, too inside/around the body on your takeaway, causing the across the line and over the top reroute, looks like another prime candidate for the arm swing illusion lessons. Similar to my own swing flaws.

i think we need a mental golf thread.. i had the same issues last time i played with the 3 or 4 tight/important tee shots. i am so worried about leaving clubface open that i usually end up pulling it significantly even though my drives/tee shots on most wide open holes would work fine on those holes.

i went and watched jamie sadlowski for a number of holes today in qualifying for vancouver's event on the canadian tour.

i was the only spectator i saw at the event that wasn't related to a player and at that i only saw two others - one being jamie's gf.

jamie is a very nice guy - as is his gf - and hits it a mile although he mostly teed off with 3 iron - was about the same distance with 3i as others who drove. one driver he hit was 310 into a very strong wind - sea level too and not much roll. anyway, it was amazing to see that driver he hit.

unfortunately he didn't qualify for main event.

kinda sucked on the luck of the draw as almost all players who qualifed were from the morning group - jamie was morning too... this sounds non-competitive but would they ever guarantee spots for the afternoon grouping. it really suck to come all this way from colorado or socal and have little chance due to tee time.

Sr. Women golfers are the ****ing nut low. There was some 9 hole league going on that had 3 or 4 groups of 4 teeing off at like 9am. Starter was like they are awful and have been running this league for 40 years and never have once let a group play through. So I tee off of 3 as the last group was teeing off of 10. I take a million extra years as possible since I am alone, play as slow as I can spend time working on bunkers ect. Then I play 1 and 2 before going to the back as I am teeing off on 17 the last group of women from the back nine was walking off 18. I took more time than I thought was possible to take playing alone and got done in 3 hours 40 minutes That means it took those old ****s 3 hours and 10 minutes to play ****ing 9 holes. not even all of them were old either some around 40

The world would be such a better place if all of them just ****ing died in a giant car wreck on the way home.
