You can probably find a hood for it but I would get a soft side bag as well. I have a hard case for mine but I do run into the 50 lb max for the airlines. Here is what mine looks like:

seems like that travel bag you linked wouldn't be able to fit your tour sized bag?

i know several folks who have used fed ex to ship their clubs back and forth at about the same price as paying for baggage on a flight.

if you think you'll make more trips in the future, i also have a friend that has the sun mountain clubglider journey and loves it.

this is the entry level sun mountain travel bag...you can end up spending more.

a little off topic but thought i'd bring it up since i mentioned sun mountain. i'm a big fan of their stuff, and if you play fairly often in wet conditions their H2NO series of waterproof bags are amazing. https://shop.sunmountain.com/waterproof-series.html i really don't like fumbling around with umbrellas on the course and there's no need to cover this bag with an umbrella because when the rain hood is on you could probably spray it with a fire hose and it would still keep things dry. i use an H2NO bag all winter and switch to a lighter sun mountain stand bag in the summer.

Upper 60's here last weekend and beginning of this week. Was great and really had me thinking GOLF soon. 12" of snow in the last 16 hours and still falling... FML

I saw a meme on FB that hit it pretty perfect...

Mother nature: You can't have all 4 seasons in one week.

Iowa: Hold my beer!

Snow here too, and not close to thinking about golf ugh. Some spring trip would be a godsend. Maybe Belek, Turkey as it is now very cheap, gotta figure out if itīs not too disturbing for piece of mind.

Buddy used a Sun Mountain waterproof bag (for 4-5 years I think) and said it was elite. He now has a Callaway which he likes too but not quite as much, I have been using Titleist Stadry for 2 years, the one I bought two years ago was not that great in that the legs actually fell off, zippers broke and shoulder straps I did not love. After it broke down I did get compensation so got last years model cheaply, and that has been an improvement on all the points I did not love the first one. Pretty happy with this one. Use it all through the golfing season, maybe could use a still lighter one on sunny summer days, but the waterproof bag is plenty light so donīt often even change (and my lighter bag is not that great). Would hate to golf in wet conditions without a waterproof bag for sure.

Went to the range today to try and dial in my driver. Tried just about every combo I could and came back with the one I had it on was a good fit. Have it on the draw setting and standard loft. Moving the loft up just created way too high of shots (and spinny). Moving the loft down a degree was good and is my #2 position to use, probably if it's a windy day.

I messed with the standard lie setting a bit and nothing there interested me much.

Amazing how I can repeat the swing about 85% of the balls on the range yet I can only hit 1 of 14 of those on the course.

Had depositions today in Brookings, just north of California border. Afternoon cancelled. Have my sticks in my trunk. 2:50 tee time at Pacific Trails. Will report back.

Optimal launch with a driver is way higher than most people are comfortable seeing. High and spinny is not good though. I usually aim for 15-16* launch angle.

Course played great for early season. Greens had been cut on saturday, still bumpy as hell but had decent enough speed. I hit 18 on two and lipped out the Eagle.

Assuming you can keep the spin down its amazing how high an optimal launch angle can be: http://flightscope.com/products/trajectory-optimizer/

It wasn't bad at all. My shoes were drying leaving the course and no one in my foursome had a plug. Picked up a lot of mud on the ball after most shots, but it's spring so we were playing the ball up anyway

That's not so bad, would have expected some plugs with the weird weather recently.

If you (or any of the other locals) want to get a round in or hit some balls at the range, I'm in Milton so anything Burlington-Mississauga works. Usually available during weekdays.

Sure, i'm down sometime. I live in Scarborough and work in Vaughan and I typically only get out on weekends as I prefer to train on my bike on weekdays. However, this is the first summer in years that I haven't been working downtown, so I may get out for weekday golf since I'm up here in Vaughan already. We'll figure something out as the weather gets better

Sounds good, send me a pm whenever. I played Scarboro G&CC last year and it was super sweet, perhaps the best course I've ever played. Unfortunately I'll probably never be able to play it again as I don't have an in anymore!
