I didn't look at the numbers but his quote was "they were way too high". Makes sense if I have a swing speed in the high 110's that I should be getting more that 280 yards.

I think I'm just going to get the extra stiff in the shaft I have now. I know what to expect and it's free.

If he had the shaft there, you tried it, and it produced those results of 10-15 then it is worth it. But just to base it on his recommendation is risky IMO.

High 110's should be miles longer than 280. Would start with xstiff and go from there especially if it is free with club.

If I start hitting the ball in the 300s my course will be obsolete. I already have to aim over trees at the corner of the doglegs. I need to learn a 75% swing with the club to find a 240-250 ball. Of course I could just go get a 3 wood but what fun is that.

Tee it a bit lower and hit a little bit down compared to a normal driver swing.

X-Flex shaft arrived today. Range session tomorrow morning and 18 on Wednesday. Very curious to see how it shows on the range. It feels like it's a gram or two heavier then the S-Flex. Hope to see a draw bias so I can tick down the loft a bit to get the spin numbers down.

Figured I would give a little update on this thread since I have had the x-flex shaft for a couple weeks. I'm finally used to the way it swings now and I have never driven the ball like this in my life. Monday's round was 10-14 fairways with the ball in the 280-290y range.

Now that I have figured out the driver I really need to fix the wedge game as I have so many shots these days in the <100y range. Today was a low point around the greens as I think I hit at least 5 chip shots fat.

I've been hitting mine so straight it's stupid. Didn't touch a club for a week, played 27 holes over the last two days and missed zero fairways.

Probably. I see they are marketing the M2 for people with a swing speed of <105 mph, which is what, about 99% of the golfing public?

WRX is one massive club ho'ing site though.

Interesting stat from Bridgestone ball fitting they said 15-20% where 105 and up. I imagine people who consistently hit the middle of the face and swing over 105 is much much lower. M2 should launch higher with more spin and more forgiving.

This is the line to replace aeroburner though. I think they originally going to call it firebird or raptor or some other dumb name is what they were telling their teaching staffers but those were awful so they went the other dumb way and made it confusing.

That number shocks me actually. Although you can have all of the swing speed in the world and it doesn't always translate to distance. I'm the poster child for that. I woud rank 49th on tour:

I would fall in right behind Si Woo Kim. His average drive is 295. I would be around 20-25y behind him, and about 30% less accurate as well

I'll let you guys know where I would rank after my fitting saturday.

I know roll numbers and total distance aren't reliable on launch monitors because I usually am within a yard of a ball mark I make in the fairway if they are anything but rock hard and oftentimes I am behind the mark, but monitors always add roll which I only get with my driver when I mis**** it.

Are carry numbers on launch monitors usually reliable or is there a good chance I get bad numbers hitting into a screen on a trackman at Club Champion?

Fairly accurate assuming set up right. Won't get the toe gear affect I don't think but plenty good for a fitting

CDL, ignore the roll. Focus on maxing carry while keeping landing angle low. That gets you closest to optimal.

I tried out this club 9.5°, 60g stiff shaft that they recommended.
My club head speed is 102-106

What shaft do you guys recommend?
