This week the LPGA moves to the state of Arkansas for the playing of the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship Presented by P&G. Last year this tournament was won by Lydia Ko, when she shot a final round sixty-eight to win by 3 strokes over both Morgan Pressel and Candie Kung.

Disappointed not to make it to the Meijer LPGA event over the weekend, schedule just didn't work. I maybe could have squeezed in a couple hours in the morning, but with the rain delays it wouldn't have made much sense.

Pretty rough scheduling it up against the U.S. Open and I wonder how the attendance results will look. It's regarded as a very well run tournament, I believe the players like the course and it's got a good sponsor so I wonder if it'll move to a more favorable slot in future years.

one thing i've wondered about is why don't these tours shuffle the bad weeks through a few tourneys i.e. X obscure tourney doesn't get great weekend every year whereas Y obscure gets stuck opposite the USO every year... if i was sponsor of a tourney with bad week i'd tell LPGA "take it or leave it" on those conditions. not sure if it would be as good for PGA

two things:

i have somewhat figured out that alot of sponsorship $$$$$ these days in north america are basically in lieu of appearance fees.... RBC comes to mind.

LPGA seems to get most top players every week so they don't have to worry about player turnout. just have to worry about possible pga conflict.

Just finished watching the final round, looked like great crowds for the feature groups, so maybe it's not as much of an issue as I would have thought.

Guessing the field next week won't be real strong with majors coming.

I usually don't mind Dan Hicks but it is rather obvious that he pays no attention to the women's game and kinda grating. At least they must have an intern who eventually gave him some cliffs on who "S.Y. Kim" is.
