one thing i've wondered about is why don't these tours shuffle the bad weeks through a few tourneys i.e. X obscure tourney doesn't get great weekend every year whereas Y obscure gets stuck opposite the USO every year... if i was sponsor of a tourney with bad week i'd tell LPGA "take it or leave it" on those conditions. not sure if it would be as good for PGA
two things:
i have somewhat figured out that alot of sponsorship $$$$$ these days in north america are basically in lieu of appearance fees.... RBC comes to mind.
LPGA seems to get most top players every week so they don't have to worry about player turnout. just have to worry about possible pga conflict.
