Stomp Golf was awesome. Had a good time and learned quite a bit in the hour. http://www.experiencestomp.com/

Wtf is Kearny CC lol

Aguila was awesome this morning, highly recommend...fairways perfect greens smooth and good speed. Shot 71, had a nice run of 4 birdies in 6 holes which helped

Our group had a first today....par 4 number 14 at Aguila plays 392...everyone playing our own ball and we played the hole 5 under as a group

Birdie birdie birdie and a hole out for eagle from my buddy, pretty sick

Ya I didn't even know that Kearny existed until the other day. We flew in and the airport is right next to this dirt lot which turned out to be their golf course. Guess they don't water it during the summer?

Middle flag..three of us made solid 10-15 birdie putts to make it happen after my buddy holed out

Damn, that's a much tougher pin with the ridge in the middle of that green. Congrats; that's a cool feat.

Last time I played Aguila in a USGA qualifier & my playing partner and I played #5 in -1 from the **** on the left (played as a par 4, not as a par 5).

nice, yeah aguila is a fun track for sure. Lots of chances for birdies and really not a lot of trouble except fairway bunkers (which are way easier than they used to be!)

#5 is a fun hole as a par 5 but it would be a rough par 4.

There's really not a bad hole on the entire course imo...I love the two driveable par 4's although unless it's downwind or you are really confident in your driver I don't like going for #17. #8 is an absolute green light unless the wind is in your face and then the water is hard to clear unless you are a high ball hitter.

One of these days I feel like I will really put it together out there and shoot a real low round. I think my best is 69 out there.

just found a killer deal on ez links/tee off.com or whatever

papago at 8:42 this next sunday for $59 for 4 players after taxes/fees...so basically out the door for $15/player with cart in the morning.

crazy good deal imo and had a buddy play there today and say it was real nice

plus I know tuq loves him some papago!

I was planning to play for the first time in over a month this weekend by heading out to Papago around 4:30 but got tied up both days. Pretty much have to play this weekend since I'm running out of days before my golf-heavy trip.

The Kearney trip report was great. Just a little different look than this thread is used to.

I watched a lot of that girls junior event specifically because it was at Forest Highlands. Looks like the weather cooperated the final days for the most part, which is no given. Almost hard to believe but all four quarterfinal matches went to at least the 18th hole, then both semifinals went at least 18, and the final went 37 holes. I imagine the odds of the last seven matches all going the distance are pretty long. Course looked amazing obv.

Played Legacy yesterday with ec_outlaw and another buddy. Starting off they didn't have enough carts for people walking in, and we didn't actually get our carts until ~10 min prior to tee time. Not a huge deal...

Except when said cart breaks down on hole 3. Took maybe 20-30 minutes for them to get us a new one. From there it was smooth sailing.

I liked the course, it's really really nice to those of us who suck at golf. Had some issues on fairway where they got cooked. Greens were bumpy as they were just punched a few weeks ago.?

Broke 100, even working with a new swing.

For $30 it's hard to complain too much, but I've had much better experiences for that same $30 elsewhere this summer.

Ya Legacy is a great deal haven't made it out there yet this summer.

Legacy is a real fun track and almost always pristine conditions....except right after being punched. Gotta call the shop ahead of time this time of year to play at least 3-4 weeks after greens punched.

At least we are basically past the punching and now it's a run of great conditions until they scalp for overseeding!

I really like Legacy. Sorry the conditions weren't great for you, Josh; they're usually very good.

Either that course fits my eye for whatever reason or the course rating is higher than it should be (72.1/128 from the back tees). It's easy to find fairways out there and the greens aren't heavily guarded. Plus, the greens are usually rolling fast and true. Can't recall ever shooting even a mediocre number there.

Yep. Played there two weeks ago right after they punched the greens. Absolutely terrible. My real complaint is them telling us on the phone they were not that bad when booking the tee time. Flat out lie. It was within a week of them having done it. Gave the manager an earful after the round and to his credit, he bought us breakfast and gave us a free round to use sometime in August. So all is forgiven. I do like the course.

Rise- I am the same way at legacy...always shoot a good number there. Lots of birdie chances and the par 3s are very easy IMO. Plus the ball rolls forever down some of those slopes so u can have a good look in 2 on par 5s or wedges into par 4s regularly

Please don't get me wrong I would play there again. The $30 golfnow hot deal market is competitive though with all the courses in the area. I think we got in Sunridge canyon (closed now, good timing lol) 2 or 3 weeks ago for $35. We're so spoiled when it comes to golf. Moved here from upstate NY a year ago, and the damn cornfield courses are $35 after a cart there, and they look more like Kearny. Actually that's probably not giving enough credit to Kearny.

Yeah definitely true...granted it's a little rough jan-march on prices *if u have to pay and over booked courses we definitely have it good.

Lots of competition for rounds, extreme heat = low prices at nice ass courses

Yeah instead of playing once or twice a week like we do in the summer during the winter it's maybe once or twice a month. Just do the range thing instead.

**** paying $80 for courses that are $19 in August

Playing Pinewood CC in Munds Park next weekend. Anyone ever played there?

Yep, play there every year as part of a golf trip to flag! See some posts a week or two ago from me.

It's always super busy and crowded but the course itself is a fun track. Not terribly long but definitely not an executive course. Small, fast, crowned slopey greens make it way tougher than it appears. We love playing there and obv 30-35 degrees cooler than phoenix!
