Forgot to post in here but I played at Spanish Trails with augie back in January and it was an awesome track.

Super challenging with a lot of picturesque holes.

Green fees < $100 too which is a great rate for the quality and layout.

I played it also for like $60 on Golf Now. Nice layout but cart girl doesn't accept cash (has an old credit card manual machine) and the staff in the clubhouse were jerks.

On the other side the best clubhouse staff were at Primm

Set to play Dragonridge, TPC and Shadow Creek. Looking for maybe one more course to play.
Royal Links any good? Have played a number of the British courses and thought may be interesting to compare.

It was two years ago when that happened. Maybe as they allowed more of the public they changed it?

Royal Links is mediocre. After playing those 3 courses you'd be disappointed. Maybe try Paiute.

I disagree. Naturally it's not near as good as Shadow Creek, what is? But it's a good course.

Don't know which TPC you're discussing, Las Vegas or Summerlin. But I've played TPC LV and I enjoyed Royal Links much more. Easier track as well.

Isnt TPC Summerlin the only public course? I loved it but never palyed shadow creek.

Coyote Springs is very nice also but no longer on Golf Now and in the Middle of No were

Will be in Vegas April 6th to the 12th. Should be playing Tuscany, Badlands and Pauitte Got a great deal at the Red Rock for 3 nights and Poker Room rate the last 3 nights at the Aria

TPC Las Vegas is public, TPC Summerlin is private.

I mean its ok, I just feel its mediocre. The greens have always been like a 3/10 when I've played there...but maybe they're going for the true links experience? But even then it doesn't play like a links course b/c they have to water it so much so it doesn't burn up under the Vegas sun.

Agree on the greens and why, and I mentioned in a TR that I was disappointed that the fairways were so damp.

Also mentioned I thought this was a good track for the average golfer because it wasn't near as penal as many Vegas courses.

Maybe if they released a flock of shaved sheep (to stay cool) to take care of the fairways they wouldn't need to be watered.

Summerlin
And I think I'll give Pauite a go, thanks.

Might as well play at the Wynn while you are at. Looks like you're going to be ballin out on some nice courses. Enjoy it. Who/what is your hookup to play at Summerlin? I wanna play there...

Oh and Paiute has 3 different courses. I've only played Snow Mountain and Wolf, but I'm pretty sure those are the nicer/tougher ones. Also something you may want to think about... in my experience Paiute seems to be more prone to high winds, I think because of its location. Not a huge sample though.

At Pauite play the wolf course, even though I preferred snow, I think most will say wolf is the "real" course there. Also eat lunch there they have great food.

My Top 5/6 Not in Order Though a few courses I just havent played
  1. Wolf Creek
  2. Badlands
  3. Tuscany
  4. Primm
  5. Pauite
  6. Coyote Springs
I definitely don't get the Badlands love. It's ok in a pinch, and generally dirt cheap, but it's not a great course imo. The 3 nines are all a bit disjointed, the greens are generalyl in ok shape at best.

Wolf Creek is great but a little gimmicky imo. Coyote Springs is my current favorite (Reflection Bay used to be but they closed it). Paiute Wolf course is great - so is the food as discussed. The staff can be real hit and miss though. Sometimes its great, but my two worst ever interactions with course personnel occurred there.

Bear's Best is great, but it costs like double what it used to so I haven't played it in a while. TPC Las Vegas is real good, but is quite a grind of a day - not much letup in that course. Cascata is great but too much uphill/downhill for me. Always in sick good condition though. Rio Secco can be great but avoid windy days and avoid summer - extreme wind or extremely dry greens can make the course nearly unplayable.

Is shadow creek over rated?

probably not, but it's definitely over priced! cheaper to play pebble i think!

I was under the impression that shadow and Wynn CC are for hotel guests only. Is this not correct? Just call em up and schedule a time?
