I take it no car rental. So you will have to cab to most courses split 4 ways not that bad.

Sign up on the site golfnow.com and sign up for daily deals. They will send you cheap rates for courses 4-5 days in advance. My favorites are Badlands, Tuscany, Rhodes Ranch. All will be $40- $50 cab rides but worth it if your able to grab some cheap rounds. If you have a rental car and willing to drive an hour 15 minutes to Mesquite play Wolf Creek Its worth the $150 a round

Rhodes Ranch lost their greens this summer, dunno if they're better now...but I played there a month or two ago and they were brutal. A friend played Tuscany 2 weeks ago and said half the greens were toast. fyi

Not sure, probably heat + disease I'd imagine.

Thank you for the input, I will have a rental car and from what I've read Wolf Creek seems like kind of a must-play while out there so I might do that instead as one of my rounds instead of Desert Pines or Royal Links.

Biggest question I have is, are the courses brown out there right now? I know when I do winter trips to Florida everything's brown but the fairways and greens. (And here in PA everything is epic drab brown) - dunno what climate is like in NV never been west of Chicago before

Keep in mind Wolf Creek is like a 2 hour drive from Vegas. If you are willing to drive I'd also highly recommend Coyote Springs and either of the Primm courses (both like an hour drive in opposite directions)

The rough might be brown but most courses overseed in the winter.

Its 77 miles how does that equate to two hours? It is 1-1/4 hours and well worth it.

Though I do agree on your other selections as well and they can all be had in last minute deals on Golf Now for $50

Looks like I'll definitely play Wolf Creek, all indications are that it's a must play. Trying to do early Saturday morning there, and then play Sunday somewhere closer to the strip. Looking forward to this!!

Spanish Trail was pretty rough when I played it, hard to find F&B service before the round. I hear it's going under.

Rio Secco was great when I played it a few years back.

Just back from Vegas. Wolf Creek was absolutely incredible and the drive there to play it is so, so worth it (drive was about 1:20 there and back) Bear's Best was a solid course as well, was in good shape and had some beautiful holes with the mountains as a backdrop. Can't wait to go back and play some more courses recommended in this thread.

Sounds great, gutted we cant make it out to Wolf Creek.

How was the weather? my previous times out have been in November and just wondering if it was a bit warmer. Coming from the Caribbean the temperatures sound baltic. Cant wait to get out there now.

What are loopers getting @ Bali Hai? Or any of the other public/resort tracks that have caddies for that matter.

Thank you in advance

Headed out to Vegas in a few weeks. Going with a couple guys who like to golf but none of us are great and some of us are terribad. Is the Callaway par 3 a good idea for folks who want to spend a few hours outside and don't want to drop a ton of money and time or is the course not even worth playing? Any thoughts appreciated.

I'll be in town this weekend coming and will play twice. My buddy and I are both in the 12-16 handicap ranges.

I will probably book on golfnow.com so I'm interested in the following courses. Are there any that I should try to play in particular, or any that should be avoided (in bad shape or just suck in general)? I will have a rental car.

Aliante
Badlands
Painted Desert
Silverstone
Wildhorse
Siena
Highland Falls at Summerlin
Rhodes Ranch (have played before and liked it)
