Quiet course where beginners can take a mulligan now and then without causing problems behind
Happy to carry clubs, don't need cart rental particularly

TIA

Tuscany great course that will appeal to all levels. Usually on golf now at $50 on the last minute alerts

Other good choices on there Rhodes Ranch. badlands is on there daily also but is target golf. Your group will have fun but lose alot of balls.

Las Vegas National pricey but nice.

Cart rental is mandatory at all Vegas courses I do believe. I never seen anyone carry.

Played the Badlands the other day for $39 on GolfNow. Course was in fantastic shape. Shot a 83 with four doubles so wasn't terribly upset for it being my third round of golf this year.

hi there. does any body know if you need a certain handicap to play courses like wolf creek, badlands or Paiute Golf Resort? or can any non golfer to go a course and just pay&play?

AFAIK no golf course anywhere is restricted to certain handicaps. If you're an absolute beginner just be mindful of pace of play. No one wants to be behind a guy who whiffs/tops 8 drives in a row and keeps re-hitting. Just keep moving and don't be ashamed to pick up your ball and move on the next hole even if you didn't finish. Also let faster players play through.

you didn't at the Badlands when I was there, but if you're a higher handicap I'd recommend playing the Outlaw/Desperado combo.

Any locals wanna hit up Revere this week? I believe its $30 after 3pm (with Clark county ID). Also Rio Secco is like $45 for locals, a steal! PM me or reply here, I'm ready to play some golf.

Meeting up with some family in a couple of weeks and by b.i.l. makes a tee time for 9:00 am. I suggest 6:30 or 7:00 as alternatives, but he doesn't want to get up early. I'm not in great shape, but am in better shape than he is. Hopefully neither of us dies.

I dunno what the criteria is for a seasonal resident card, but if you are here for work (WSOP) then I assume you would be able to get one. Would definitely be worth the hassle to get it with all the money you'd save on green fees.

Played Badlands today for my first time goling in Vegas. Played around 4:30 and the guy in the proshop only charged me $19 for 18 holes (outlaw/diablo). WTF?? is this a normal rate? Seemed like a steal considering the course was in great shape and we still got 18 in. Going to work my way up to wolf creek, probably playing Tuscany later in the week.

So late and so hot. Rack rate for tourists I think is $125-$150. You can usually find a deal on Golf now for $50. Course is always in great shape and a automatic to play when were in tow, Cant wait to hear your thoughts on Wolf Creek Tuscany is still a fav of mine Will they ever build a clubhouse though

LV golf report, 6/13-15.

6/13, TPC Las Vegas @ 110pm for $69. Course didn't have the championship tees up so we played from the back plates at 7080 yards. Tough course especially when you don't know what's out there. It was certainly fair, just seemed that if you missed the fairway you were in the scrub or worse. Mostly just plodded along making a couple of birdies and a couple of bogeys. Greens were firm but receptive, stimping at 9 according to the info listed in the pro shop.

6/14, 36 holes at Royal Links, $99 @ 830am, replay rate of $45. Championship tees at 7029. This is a replica course of holes from the courses used in the (British) Open rota. Had played 8 or 9 of them in real life, most looked nothing like the actual holes. But it's an excellent course for golfers of all abilities, fairways are wide enough, it's the pot bunkers that will get you. Greens were excellent, about the same speed of TPC. Fairways were a bit wet, most unlike a true links course. Only three really tough holes, 7, 12, and 16, all long par 4's. Made 10 birdies but still lost the bet with my mini-tour buddy and had to pay for dinner at Outback just like when we were on the road. To make matters worse he ordered a 32-ounce porterhouse, a lobster tail, and multiple Coronas. Bastard.

6/15, Rio Secco @ 8am for $100, reduced rate for guests of Caesar's. Championship tees at 7313. Great track, lots of elevation change and some splendid views of the strip 10 miles away. Unlike TPC, this course had nice transition areas between the fairways and the desert. Greens were faster and firmer and rolled true. Didn't think it was quite as difficult as TPC but a good test nonetheless. Unfortunately my mind was fried after the previous 54 holes and had no game whatsoever under 100 yards. Only made 1 birdie and shot over par and got beat again by my buddy.

For a single digit handicapper I'd recommend Rio Secco, think a worse golfer would have trouble with various aspects of the course. A double-digit handicapper would love Royal Links.

Funny story of the trip, in the afternoon round at Royal Links had another buddy of mine playing who shot in the 90's. On #8, the Postage Stamp replica, we all tried to hit out of the left bunker which was about 7 feet deep with a vertical wall. We placed the ball 3 feet from the wall and gave it a whirl. Took me 2 tries to get it on the green about 8 feet away. Mini-tour buddy did it on his first attempt but was 25 feet or so past. Then my 90-shooting buddy who plays with a shut face on every shot tried. Bladed it into the wall about 6 inches off the ground where it hit a rock embedded in the face. Instead of ricocheting back into his nuts, it went almost 30 feet in the air, landed on top of a 10 foot mound, and rolled down the hill onto the green, almost hit the pin, and stopped 6 feet away. We were all literally rolling on the ground laughing.

I like the TPC layout a lot, glad to hear you say it's tough because I keep shooting 88 from the blue (10hdcp) and a little frustrated. Fwiw they punched the greens only a few weeks ago so they aren't even all the way back yet.

I didn't like rio secco that much but only because I felt at that price point there are a lot of options. Shot poorly too so maybe it affected my feelings.

Played primm lakes course yesterday and it was fantastic.

FYI to anyone: red rock arroyo greens are totally screwed up / dead, course is ruined. Too bad too

I forgot to mention one thing about TPC that I didn't like. They use those white plastic liners in the tops of the holes to give the appearance that they're painted just like on tour. This is what I was told in the shop anyway.

Several things about this, they look like crap, it's something you'd see at a goat ranch public track. They keep balls out of the hole, balls will literally bounce off the plastic and out. Lastly, and most important in my mind, they're illegal.

looking to spend $30-$50 tomorrow, looking on golfnow.com... we have our own clubs and are both around 15 handicaps... any good cheap options? I have already played Rhodes Ranch a couple of times. I'm seeing some cheaper options now in the afternoon, I think we can handle the heat no prob.
