My previous plans to play fell through and I dragged my clubs on the plane with me. Does anyone want to play early/late on Mon or early on Tue? Open to playing anywhere < $100.

Played an awesome course today, dragon ridge in Vegas. Decent 44-42 = 86 after no golf for several days. New favorite Vegas course though it's private so won't be back often.

Callaway center had a deal $150 hit all the balls you want in a month....of course they do away with it right when I get back from Texarkana. Have emailed a few head pros around me seeing if someone can give me some sort of unlimited deal for a flat fee and have come up empty. Anyone know of somewhere (Henderson area) that has good deal on unlimited balls? Best I've found is $7/bucket with a range card at Revere...and hitting a few buckets in a day can get pricey.

I know Siena had or has a deal where for $50/month you get unlimited use of the practice facilities. That's not near Henderson but I would have to think other courses around town may have similar deals. The only catch on the Siena deal was you had to commit for 6 months and month to month after that I believe.

i believe most courses around town (or many anyhow) have range deals that are no more than $75 a month for unlimited use. The callaway price is laughable.

Try calling legacy.

Yeah the Callaway price is high, but I could hit balls at night which was a huge plus for August in Vegas. I think I'm going to have to go with Legacy, hopefully they'll have a monthly unlimited rate. Will be joining Revere next year, would join now but their computer doesn't allow them to sell yearly passes anytime other than the beginning of the year.

The Siena deal is good. When I signed up the guy said if I can't do 6 months just call him and he'll cancel it. Ymmv. It also gets you $25 rounds any time 3 hours before sunset and after. Range is good enough but nothing special.

Paitue sells monthly passes also for $60 and the facilities are the nuts. It is kinda far though.

Yeah Sienna is like 35 mins for me. Everywhere that has any kind of decent deal if >30mins, kinda devalues the deal in gas money.

The obvious solution is to get the hell out of Henderson.

I have a few questions about these courses.

Wildhorse, Black Mountain, and Boulder Creek Golf Club:

1. What is the typical pace of play, for each place, at various times of day? Does it play really slow once you get to twilight, or really fast at 1pm?
2. How hard is it to get out only as a single on these courses (not being forced to group up)?
3. If singles are not an issue, do singles have their play speed hindered by the amount of groups playing on the courses?
4. Will you rank these courses from your favorite to least favorite?
5. Do you think these courses are a decent value?

I played a lot of public golf in L.A. and Burbank, and from what I've seen on websites, all of these courses look better than most of the courses I played on in L.A. If I'm able to jam through a round with little resistance, that's the most ideal situation, but I don't want to be able to play fast on a crap course, if that makes sense. Which of these courses would be ideal for someone with around a 10 handicap, or are they all good fun?

I've got a $100 gift card to Aliante that I don't plan on using if anyone wants to buy it from me. $85 maybe?

I like Wildhorse but my buddies dont. No complaints about Black Mountain. Never played the public Boulder Creek

As for the other questions going out as a single only works when course is dead

What did your friends not like about Wildhorse? Why do you like it? Are Wildhorse and Black Mountain usually busy, or more empty? Which seems more empty to you?

They didnt like the condition of it. I thought it wasnt that bad for the $. As for how busy cant say as I always play in Late September or Early May. Never in the dreaded heat like this. The one year I did go when it was hot played Painted Desert in the afternoon with my buddy. We play quick and never caught anyone till the 16th hole

Played the vegas national course in July, $65 including club and buggy hire seemed good to me. Area's of course could have been in better nick but still very enjoyable for an amateur like me. Hard to cope with the sun though.

i am a causal golfer (not very good but love the game) going out to vegas in october. i have been out to vegas a few times before but have never played golf out there and am pretty much in the dark about courses out there. I will not have a rental car, could potentially bring my clubs but feel this might be a pain since i will only be looking to play one round. I will b there thurs-sun morning. Does anyone have a reccomendation of a course i could play that has either transportation, rental clubs or both for <100$ for a round? or one close enough to the strip that cabfare wont kill me? Just figured golfing in vegas in october could be a nice alternative to pokerssss

Anybody Know:

What kind of condition is Vegas Golf Club in these days... You can get a Golfnow.com mid week for 29.00 (w/ cart) and it is near a bus line from the Strip. Last I checked they still had rentals. Cab wouldn't kill you probably.

Las Vegas National?? It was in pretty meh condition when I played it in July. Seemed like they had let it go quite a bit. Greens were about as slow as any I have played. But, it does have a nice layout and is not far from the strip. So kinda depends what you are looking for. I still had a good time.

Ahhh nevermind there is an actual Las Vegas Golf Club... I've never played it, but not expecting it to be outstanding though, I played probably 20 courses in the area and didn't play there or notice it this summer. I would think someone wuold have recommended it to me or I would of came across it online if it was a must play.

not a must play that I could find, but certainly matched the criteria from soccer4lifes post above if anyone could verify the conditions....

I Like all the courses you mentioned alot, but I would def play Bears Best if you have never played it. A good test with some really cool holes. Was in great condition when I played it last. Never played Coyote Springs

Coyote Springs is very much like Primm, maybe a bit nicer. It's a drive and its reasonably priced, and its quite a golf course, but its in the middle of nowhere. If you enjoy Primm I would definitely get to Coyote Springs.

Bears Best is a super solid course, I like it a lot, I would put it ahead of every other course you mentioned except Primm and maybe Pauite Wolf (I don't really like the design but its obviously a good course).
