actually this is SOP on both the euro and PGA tours (not exactly the same but close enough):

73 players made the cut.

Players P1-P37 tee off on the 1st tee, P37 first, leaders last.
Players P38-P73 tee off on the 10th tee, P38 first, P73 last.

Then depending on how much time was lost, the committee will determine whether or not to re-group the players before round 4. Usually in the early part of the year when there is less daylight or when the TV window calls for it, players will often go out in the same groups as round 3. Thus, that's why you don't always see the leaders playing together on Sundays when there are weather delays earlier in the week.

caught up on dvr. Any thoughts on Bryson not helping to look for Andy's ball while Rory was? Seemed a bit off watching him just stand in the middle of the fairway waiting and watching them look.

But you have to wait until everyone finishes in order to know where the cut is so why not just send people out in the right order if you're waiting to start round 3 until all the players have completed round 2?

Solid eagle by Fowler after making that double. I wonder how much he climbs on the OWGR.

Said Post round the thought it was in the water, and apologized for not helping. At the moment though it sure raised some eyebrows.

This was such a fantastic leaderboard coming into Sunday. Really had a Major feel to it

Was 6th, will be 4th

CDL, I don't think your memory is correct. Every golfer teed off within a two hour window in the third round. Maybe you saw Spieth hole out on 18 and assumed he was done. Since he started on 10, he still had nine more to play.

In any event, he was never more than 9 holes ahead of the last group.

I mean he sat there staring at them digging in all those bushes for 5 min. Seems like a half ass excuse. If I actually liked the dude I would buy it.

Unfortunately I didn't catch it live, but when I looked at scores when I woke up I saw that Spieth had already posted a full 3rd round score and some other guys still were listed as not having teed off. Rory was through 9 and a handful of other guys were within a few holes of him. Maybe the reporting was just off on espn.com?

It would make more sense if the scores just weren't being reflected correctly.

Was nothing unusual with order of play at that time, must have been reporting.

BUMP

RORY.

Though he hits so many mediocre wedge shots. I trust him more from 225 yards than 125.

He has about as good of a long game as anyone, right up there with Jason Day.

That course was as pretty as any course I've seen on tv.

Willett playing so good right now, flushing every iron and making putts a good combo, I guess he'll be better this weekend than last

Willett hits a bad shot and the commentator is like "now you're a major champion, you have to watch your language" lol

I know there is a Tiger thread, but opening 39 in Dubai was pretty scruffy. Looks stiff, just inconsistent in all aspects.
