Thought about making a 2014 thread, but got lazy.

Anyway, we got tiger and rory together in Dubai this week teeing off in a couple o of hours. Different Spaniards have won the past two weeks in the desert, and another is the defending champion this week.

There are approximately 70 pasty Euros in attendance today and 68 of them are following the Tiger / Rory group.

By the way, the hole in one prizes this weekend:

7th hole (186 yds) - sleek Omega watch
15th hole (190 yds) - new Mercedes-Benz
17th hole (359 yds) - US $2.5 million

Good luck!

That last hole was a bit of a tense affair for Mr. Gallacher. Almost spin it into the water, lip in the short putt. Nice comeback though.

Yeah - he was stunned it spun back at all - most action seen by a long way all day.

Stepped up to the last putt and knocked it in like a baller though, even if it was a lip! Confident putt.

WD!

He's working the shaft and balls at the same time. A real pro.

Apparently Larrazabal was playing in the event yesterday when he was attacked by hornets and had to jump into a lake to escape them. He was stung 20 times and still shot 70. He was quoted as saying they were 3 or 4 times the size of bees. LOL

Set the course record at -10 62. Part of which was in drizzling rain. Sick.

Cold putter and a few bad shots here and there and Bjørn is struggling to get around in even par today. Looks like a good leaderboard heading into the weekend.

In other news Dane Jeppe Huldahl shot 60 on the Challenge Tour in Austria today 3-putting the 8th (his 17th) to miss out on the 59 :-(

Yeah but to be fair I think he had better conditions than most of the field yesterday.

After setting the record Thursday, shooting par yesterday, then getting off to a slow +3 start today Thomas Bjorn just made 7 birdies in a row to get to -14, 5 strokes clear of Luke Donald and 6 clear of Rory.

Wow.

Wow.
What he did Thursday was very very impressive but his back nine today was just crazy. 6 birdies in a row and a total of 7 birdies and 2 pars. Missed a good chance at 17 as well. The putter was insanely hot on the back nine but I was even more impressed with how he found his long game. Starting out he really hit it awful - big hooks a low slice and everything in between, getting back from that to hitting real quality shots mid round was just great to watch :-)

He shoots -7 on the back but its par 37 so he doesn't break 30. What a rip off....

Jesus, Bjorn is ****ting the bed here.

Still think he'll sort his **** out and win this reasonably comfortably.
