I used to play a tonne of golf - like over 150 rounds a year as I used to work at a golf course. Anyways for a number of reasons I haven't played at all in about 5 years. My golf clubs were stolen about three years before. I got down to a 12 handicap at my best (kinda pathetic for playing so much).
The irons I used to have were stiff shafts (Wilson Ultra Tour 45 - basically the same of ProStaff's that came out a year later). Anyways I was always uncomfortable with those irons and always though it was due to the stiffer shafts so I'm thinking of getting regular flex shafts this go around. My brother has regular shafted clubs (some Clevelands from about 10 years ago) and I always hit the ball alot more solid with them. In my opinion alot mid-high handicappers buy stiff shafts when their swing speeds are nowhere near high enough. Is this the main consideration between the two?
My question is, what is the main factor in deciding? I plan on playing a couple of times a week so I'll probably be shooting mid 80's at best. I have no idea what my swing speed is but I used to hit my 7 iron 150-155 and my driver about 260 on average.
Also I see a couple used sets on Kijiji in my area. Thoughts?
