Heading for my honeymoon in July and I'm looking into the best courses to play in Maui. I'll probably only golf once or twice. We'll be staying in Kihei, but will have a car so distance isn't a real issue. Shoot mid-80s - 90s on most courses so not the greatest golfer, but not afraid of the harder courses.

I'm leaning towards The Plantation course, but as far as I can tell it doesn't have the amazing views some of the other courses may have (could be wrong though).

Does anyone have any suggestions for the most scenic courses in Maui?

My wife and I played here on our honeymoon years and years ago. It was amazing. She doesn't even really like to golf and she had a blast because of the views and the scenery.

Also, change your hotel to here and thank me in the morning:

Plantation course is always really really windy. Wailea courses are more fun IMO. I like the emerald course. Great views, perfect condition.

Thanks guys. Keno - do you remember which Wailea course(s) you played? Will look into the Emerald course and Four Seasons.

I wasn't sure but I dug up our honeymoon photos and there is a pic of the scorecard. We played the emerald course.

I have recommended the Four Seasons to 11 (now 12, including you) couples and 9 went there. Those 9 have reported back having recommended it to at least 2 couples each. So I feel like they owe me something. I expect to receive nothing.

Played the plantation course and one in the middle of the island (the dunes something iirc) but preferred the courses i played on oahu to those two. Guess i should have gone to wailea.

Yeah, mamas fish house is ridiculous. I literally had like 3 of the tastiest dishes I've ever had all in one meal there. They have a crab and lobster stuffed mahimahi with panko crust. ******ed.

Also, sounds crazy, but if you are there for more than a week or so, you may get sick of fish and mango chutney, etc...there is an amazing Italian place above wialea called Capiche. I don't know if it was good or I was in disparate need of some god damn pasta.

Make sure you play 36 holes if you're going to the plantation course. They have two other courses to choose from so you can play one in the morning for ~$190 (or whatever it is now) and then a second course for like $45 or something in the afternoon.

And you won't be disappointed by the views on the plantation course, that's for sure. Might not be the best as I haven't played all the courses out there but it's a course I would recommend everyone play once if you're going to Maui.

The cheap replay rate insta seals the deal.

i stayed here and played wailea too. It's pretty awesome. It's not as cool as princeville or kauai, but still pretty damn awesome. If you workout at all, make sure and do a run on the treadmill which is outside with a view and has dudes who hand you water and towels as you run.

U picked the best 2 Wailea Courses so that is good. If u have time to get to Oahu make sure u play Ko Olau Golf Club. Hardest course on the planet and so much fun (torture) I shot 96 as a 4 handicapper and I didn't play that bad.
