never understood why augusta is held in such great esteem. more of a backwards uppity white country club for members who want to preserve the pre civil rights era south. perfect for bubba watson and his stupid ass confederate flag car. id like to see bubba cruise with that car here on crenshaw blvd. lol

How many backwards uppity white country clubs are out there, but just don't get the publicity? Augusta just happens to have a very famous, jaw-droppingly beautiful course and a very prestigious golf tournament. I'm sure there are dozens of others that have had and probably still have sexist or racist policies. I can't get too upset about it because even as a white guy I'm never going to have a chance to join Augusta or Cypress Point or anywhere else of that caliber. Sure, I think the sexist & racist country clubs are "backwards," and I wouldn't want to join any club that excluded women or blacks, and I understand the symbolism of a place like Augusta letting women in, but I really just can't care much if Condi Rice gets to join Augusta or not. She always struck me as more of a football fan, anyway. (Wouldn't mind seeing her replace Goodell as NFL commish.)
