If the weather isn't too hot, the course is flat, and you are in good shape I think you can probably get through 54 holes without becoming too much worse over the course of the day. But 85/round isn't a ton of wiggle room to play poorly. How often do you break 255 over a three-round stretch at this course? If you can pull that off most of the time, I think you're a slight favorite to win the bet.
5 10 200lbs. I walk 26 of 40 rounds this year. So walking a course is very natural. In college (15 yrs ago) we used to play 36 holes in a day on occasion all by foot.

Thanks for the vote of confidence.

I would attempt to negotiate a real lunch time. By no means a long rest, just time to eat a real meal.
You would be surprised at the number of schools where you can play golf at with a 10 handicap. There are even some D1 schools where golfers have 10+ handicap's. Granted, an example of these schools would be like the NCAA Basketball teams that dont make NCAA or NIT. I cant speak for other schools and scholarships, only myself and yes. Was a 7 handicap back in the college days ie 1997-2001. It did not hurt playing 5 or 6 times per week.

to me the bet is more about whether you can shoot 80 he first two rounds. if you think you can, go for it. Unless you hit 200 balls in a day on the regular i dont see how fatigue won't destroy round 3 and I cannot imagine your best score will be round 3. I would have a case of clif bars in the car and reload every round.
Thanks for the input. I dont see fatigue as much as a factor. On a normal Sat or Sunday its not uncommon for me to hit balls for 2hrs before the round and 1 hour after. The nice thing about the country club is they are included. Love the cliff and mojo cliff bars.

Going to ask for 161.5. This leaves me extra wiggle room.

This. I do a similar bet every year on the summer solstice and 72 holes. I'm pretty much sipping nuun and nibbling on something on every other hole.

Consider wearing 2 gloves if you don't practice/play enough to have hands that can stand up to the 3 consecutive rounds.

Re: 54 Hole Golf Prop Bet Negotiation and Help Needed

I thought of a few more items to throw into the deal and will ask for them tonight:

1. 1 breakfast ball (mulligan) per round on either the 1st or 10th hole. 10th hole is a driveable par 4 with a road on the right and trouble left. Figure hit a nice iron off the tee and then try to bomb one.

2. Have an option for either party to do a partial buy out after the first or second 18 holes have been completed

3. Have the option to attempt this again within 1 calendar year.

Anything else I should try to throw in?

This is a manly bet, don't be a puss. No such thing as a mulligan.

If the course was above average in difficulty, you'd be a dog. If the course is as easy as you make it seem, I make you a slight favorite.

By the way, in your original post you stated you have to walk the first 36 holes. Didn't say you had to carry your clubs though. It's little holes like this that can make or break prop bets.

You are correct, must walk and carry my clubs. For the last 18 I may take a pull/push cart.

Sounds fun betting with you.

Does it hurt to ask for odds? The worst he can say is no.

Still waiting for his response back to me.

Only tip I can give that hasnt been given is remember to keep your bag light (obv you know) but in general take ONLY what you need and since you know the course you know all your second shots etc.

Sounds pretty brutal and a tough bet to win.
