54 Hole Golf Prop Bet Negotiation and Help Needed

My buddy challenged me to a golf prop bet.

Rules:
Must shoot less 255 or less
54 Holes of golf in 1 day
Maximum 20 minute break between rounds
Must walk the first 36 holes
Can use a push card for last 18 holes
Mens Tee
Ball must be holed out (no gimmes)

Wager
Loser pays for all of the golf
If 54 holes are not completed, I must pay 1.5x the wager

Course
Sandy Hollow Golf Course (Rockford, IL)
http://www.rockfordgolfs.com/courses/course-sandy.html
Not much trouble on the course

About Me
Played both high school and college golf
Handicap 10.3
Played course over 50 times
This is a course where the driver does not come into play much.

What else should I try to negotiate?

Tips from anyone who has attempted this type of challenge

Thanks for your help and suggestions,
CD

how crowded is the course? i can't imagine getting 54 holes in without being in a mad rush the last 4 hours or so. the first 36 hours could be brutal if the course is busy (or are you getting some special dispension? uncrowded private course?)

So basically can you avg 85 for 3 rounds in a day.
You've played college golf and this course >50 times, so you know how likely 85 is for you. And surely have played 36 holes many times to gauge how taxing it is for you. Seems pretty straightforward to estimate whether you think this is doable. If not, go play 45 and see how you feel.

This is a park district course. My plan would be T off for the first round around 530 am and be done by 9am. This should leave plenty of time to complete the remaining 2 rounds. I do have the option to play at a private course however the yardage is close to 7k and a 73 Rating. The park district is short w/no real hazards other than OB left and right on a few holes.

Stay hydrated. Space out peanut butter sandwiches to keep you going.

I was thinking about running a trial run in 3 weeks. Out of town for work and on a cruise for the next 2 weeks starting Monday. It willl not hurt to shake the rust out over a 36r or 45r to gauge were things are at. Being that its a par 71, this will save me 3 shots right there not to mention many birdie opps.

Will pack a cooler in the car filled with Gatorade/lunch/dinner and some protein bars.

slope/rating of course, how often do you break 85 when you play the course?

i'm not sure how often a 10.3 does that on say a 70/130 type course but i fluctuate between an 11 and 12 and only break 85 ~30% of the time and that's not walking 54 holes in a day. it's also spread out over a bunch of courses, i rarely play the same course more than twice a year so that might have a slight negative effect on my scores. i think you may be a dog in this but you know the course very well and we don't so its hard to tell. if the course is crowded and you don't get out there at sunrise you might have trouble finishing, you probably have what 15 hours of sunlight in a day to play golf right now?

I assume you're in decent shape. Do you walk your rounds on a regular basis?

If the weather isn't too hot, the course is flat, and you are in good shape I think you can probably get through 54 holes without becoming too much worse over the course of the day. But 85/round isn't a ton of wiggle room to play poorly. How often do you break 255 over a three-round stretch at this course? If you can pull that off most of the time, I think you're a slight favorite to win the bet.

DEFINITELY take advantage of the push/pull cart for the last 18. Don't be an arrogant egotistical fool. Take the break.

Where can you play college golf with a 10 cap? Certainly not with a scholarship, right?

I would attempt to negotiate a real lunch time. By no means a long rest, just time to eat a real meal.

Re: 54 Hole Golf Prop Bet Negotiation and Help Needed

he could have played college golf and is now a 10.

to me the bet is more about whether you can shoot 80 he first two rounds. if you think you can, go for it. Unless you hit 200 balls in a day on the regular i dont see how fatigue won't destroy round 3 and I cannot imagine your best score will be round 3. I would have a case of clif bars in the car and reload every round.

Why even bother doing this if you dont get $$ for completing it.

Just seems bad for you.

I think you should get 1.5x the bet if you win at minimum

Yeah this, I mean you are in a lose lose situation. Your winnings would be the 3 rounds of golf you already played and I cant imagine you just love playing 54 holes all the time. You should definitely get something on top of all the golf paid for
