I could write a 1000 word wall of text ripping this post to shreds, but why bother? Obviously the 90's shooter knows everything there is to know about U.S. Open golf.

Dufner quietly up to 12th. Strange since it doesn't seem like he's done anything in quite a while.

If you point out that the 90s golfer at would have to take unplayable lies and go hit 3 from the tee at US Open Oakmont (or worse, take 2-3 or more shots just to get out of the rough) in spots where they'd normally be hitting greens from fluffed up lies in the rough it's pretty easy to see that they wouldn't be shooting in the 90s.

He might have an argument (but not really) if it's a consistent 150 yard drives up the middle of the fairway type of 90s golfer, and even then he'd have to be a great putter.

random thoughts from someone who plays a lot but doesn't follow golf:

i think fox coverage has been pretty solid between online and live. they've seemingly done a good job on stats and graphics.

lol'ed when commentators went from verbally blowing dechambeau to chastisisng his robotic approach after missing a 7 footer.

bdiddy is clearly insane but he got me curious. i'm an 8.7 and when i input my index to the course calculator using oakmont's rating it says my oakmont cap would be like 11. there's no way in hell i would shoot 81 at that course if you gave me 20 rounds. i don't think i could break 110 there in 20 tries. why doesn't the course calculator account for rating?

edit- better example. oakmont's rating is 77.5 but when i input 0 handicap with 147 slope it says course cap is still 0.

Seems like Duf was quietly stringing together a lot of top 25-30 finishes coming in, which means he's consistently very close. His games was definitely on an upswing

They played end of the 3rd this morning at 7am eastern on FS1. Started the 4th round on what seems to be normal starting time for a Sunday.

I recorded the 7am PT one. The 7am ET one wasn't even on my guide. I should have known.

God forbid they just replay actual golf instead of Nicklaus/Palmer fluff and highlights from last year.
