Love the fact that Jordan Spieth tells the press if I qualify for this event and dont show call me out on it. Kid has so much more class than guys that skipped this event

Spieth is so sick. Odds on over 5 victories?

eh, Spieth's not that bad either. Hit 11 greens, shoot -8. Still has 1 more bogey on the week than Top5 Reed, slanker.

Yeah it was a pretty impressive display. Just does not seem to have any blowup holes or blowup rounds. Birdie machine.

I wonder if Rory thinks, "Damn, this kid stole my thunder."

I am now sold on last year being what to expect not a fluke.

Spieth already up to 43rd all-time in PGA Tour Earnings. This doesn't even include the $10mm from the FedEx Cup.

Would love to see some sort of list not adjusted not for inflation but adjusted for strength of field ect, like every US Open first gets 1.5MM second 1MM ect. would probably way over value the old guys but would be interesting to see.

I imagine no one thought Spieth wasn't the real deal, but I am just amazed by him. Doesn't hit it super far but a great example of far enough.

I thought he wasn't the real deal. Many solid but not spectacular pros have had magical seasons where they made the game look easy. Luke Donald, Adam Scott. Then they revert back to being the solid pro they really are.

I expected the same for Spieth but it certainly appears I may have underestimated him. He plays such a clinical game, nothing really flashy. His strength is lack of weaknesses, which makes him easy to underestimate I suppose.

I'm basically the same as you - being proven wrong.

Although is what JS has done/doing more impressive than rory (before Nike, famous GF, agent split etc)?... I guess if rory had closed on that masters where he blew up, it might be different

I heard announcers say JS at one point (last year???) was 33% from 20-25 feet

One thing that does intrigue me is Spieth and rory seem like naturally strong guys. Not sure about day... I have pet theory that tall, skinny, whippy swings break down under pressure

Rory won 2 of his majors by 8 shots, that's pretty impressive. I wouldn't be surprised if Speith has the better career but it's easy to undersell Rory just because Speith's big year is fresher in our minds

The either or is a media stupidity. They are both amazing.

I think Rory's A+ game is better but Speith is just more consistently amazing.
