Yeah unfortunately they (Shriner's) definitely don't draw Masters or US Open-type numbers in attendance. Which is unfortunate because it is such a good time out there and the weather's so great this time of year. Most of the big name golfers skip this event which is probably hurts attendance a bit.

As expected, this week's event in Kuala Lampur has many more of the top names, including 7 major winners:

Only 7? The Vegas field had 13 major winners.

Vegas had 132 players. This tourney has only 78. So it's about the same percentage. But the "pundits" are excited because it's not just people who won majors--it's Phil.

Among Bo's count of 13 @ Vegas include Danny Lee, Ricky Barnes, and Ryan Moore.

LOL. But no, I did not count those three. Most of the time I post numbers in a manner than the casual fan can understand.

FWIW, the PGA considers there to have been 12 major winners in Vegas last week:

You guys do realize there is a rather important PGA Tour event being played this week yes? Halfway home and not a single post on what has transpired. I know many have no comment because they never do when their favorite player is not being penalized. But it is a different course than what we're used to with some different and interesting players in the field.

BO is the Derek Zoolander of the 2p2 Golf forum. Derek can't turn left, BO can't post first on a topic.

It can't be that important if it's in Malaysia.

Ugh I'm lame and go to bed so early. But I'm pumped to watch tonight and tomorrow night - I'll have a coffee and stay up for the coverage.

Bo, what should we be looking for with this golf course? What makes it different/special/ awesome?
10-25-2013 , 11:42 AM
Bo says so. Now sit back and appreciate the awesome.

I watched quite a bit of this last night, seems like a pretty cool layout. Fowler hitting the green on the par-4 and draining the eagle was sweet.

Man I love these Asian / Australian events. Live golf in broad daylight while it's evening here. Too bad we can't ship all our courses over there and play the whole season this way.

Aphibarnrat.

If he could reduce the imploding, everyone should learn how to spell it.

That's not a name, that's a sneeze

Move to Europe time zone. I watch the golf, american football and basketball in the evening after spending all day watching the premiership. It's all good.

Probably won't be home to watch the conclusion tonight, but if I manage to, all I want is any result other than a Moore-Stroud mano a mano snoozefest.
