When did Pebble move east of the Mississippi? And five times at that?

I was getting ready to say something similar. If O'Meara is in, the Furyk is the ultimate lock. Weren't 5 or 6 of his wins at Pebble Beach?

I can't believe Furyk is only 42. Golfers age like nobody's business. Sun and wind gonna get ya.

Most golfers look older than they are. Earning your living out in the elements will do that to you. Some escape the wrath somehow like Couples.

That I forgot about that tells you how memorable they were. That event draws like Phil + two others of the top fifty every year. Hard to believe that top pros would turn down an opportunity to play six hour rounds with a bunch of hacks while having to pretend that George Lopez is actually funny, but nonetheless it happens.
O'Meara isn't on the Andy North level of wtf two-time major winners (because after all, North won what, ONE other tournament?) but nonetheless he is a middling pro with a Scott Hoch/Mark McCumber type of career imo* that is going to be rewarded for a brief hot stretch that was aided by a pretty weak year by Tiger and both Couples and Duval failing to close out the Masters.
* OK, that was mean. Tom Lehman is a better example, except without all the chokes.

So Couples is a lock for HOF?... interesting and I'm a Freddie fan. Furyk and Freddy are pretty close overall.
So is Webb Simpson still the best golfer no one knows? Seems incredible after this win but I think it's still probably true. His buzz level is non-existent.

Didn't Freddy briefly make it to #1 in OWGR as well? I think that has to count for something.
He has or will have all sorts of Masters records. 23 Consecutive cuts made. Will soon be #2 in total cuts made. 3rd in career scoring average (Tiger and Phil will go up when they play in their 50's)

Couples and Pavin having the same amount of tour wins boggles my mind.

So did Tom Lehman. If it counts for Couples, it counts for Lehman.

If Pavin's career had started 15-20 years later, he would have 0 career wins

False. Just a couple of years ago he lost in a playoff. There are still courses he would have won at such as Colonial where he finished T31 this year. He also finished T38 in Hawaii.
Luke Donald is the world #1 and he hits it nowhere, currently in the bottom 10 in driving distance.

Well the guys he played against could have beaten him if they wanted to.
