Anyway, I didn't forget about this, just was traveling and have been busy.
I started the second day three back. Par 1 and 2, then make bogey from a really simple chip shot on 3. At this point I'm four back. Par 4, then hit it to a foot on 5 and make birdie, then make about a 30 footer on 6 to get within 2. Lip out birdie on 7, but I've found my groove.
Get stuck between clubs on 8. I had 167 to a front pin, but kind of an awkward angle where short left is ok, short right is dead, long left is dead, long right is ok. My miss when I try to hit something hard is right, and left when I try to hit something easy. So no good option here. I decide to hit punch 6 15 feet right of the flag, but hammer it and hook it. 15 yards long left, short sided in a sandy lie. Try to just bump a 9 iron through the rough and somewhere on the green, but miss it a bit and come up short. Still short sided, I hit a great little pitch to 5 feet. Hit a terrible putt, then quick hit the 18 incher and spin it out. Triple. Fantastic. 5 back. Then guy that was leading birdied 3 of next 4 and I was done. Couple bogies coming in to shoot 78.
Blah. Need to play more tournaments. Swing was a little off but fine, but jeez my short game is not ready for tournament golf.
