People telling me to win and lose with class and all that and all I think is "if you worked so hard for 11 years and had the opportunity to win the biggest event in the world and it slipped through your hands, how would you react?"

I mean if you show me getting mad, why not show me signing autographs for every little
Kid and doing all the interview requests immediately after playing. I'm just kinda bitter about that cause now I people think I'm some unappreciative kid. I have gotten a bunch of tweets from people saying get a grip and things like that. Just annoying how people are so quick to judge. After the event there was a cocktail party at the club. We finished around 4:45 yesterday and I did not leave the club until 8:30 last night cause I hung around and talked to all the members/volunteers/committee people, but of course my little outburst on 1 was the only thing to be seen. Just kinda tilted about that cause I care what people think about me. Sorry for ranting and I don't mean to toot my own horn about what I did after. I'll start a thread tonight or tomorrow and you guys can ask me questions rather than me doing a TR. I was there for 10 days so the days are kinda a blue but I'll do my best

Thanks guys

now that you're a celebrity, you're gonna have to deal with random internet people hating on you! get used to it!

fwiw, the guys on today's episode of morning drive said they don't think it was a big deal that you got upset, so that should bode well for your reputation among the unwashed masses.

Joke's on everyone who judges you based on a 1/2 second clip of you during perhaps the most frustrating and emotional moment of your life. Congrats on the great play; looking forward to following your career in the future.

Totally agree with augie -- this is the world you are choosing. When Jason Day kicks a club no one notices; when Tiger does it is a page worth of posts. The margins for error get smaller and smaller the higher and higher you go, both on the course and off. Until you get so high you can leave a trail of porn stars in your wake and Golf Digest will bury the story unless and until your wife Kate Upton smashes the rear window of your Ferrari some Easter morning when you forgot to lock your backup backup cell phone AND left it on the counter (like, how dumb can you be?) and she reads your texts and somehow is shocked to learn that she isn't the only one you like to smear nutella on and it becomes kinda big news.

completely understand stads' attitude about the putter slam and love the passion and the fire, but it honestly doesn't look good. I think you just have to know and expect to get unfairly judged when you are on national tv and have the cameras trained on you. he's just a kid though and this is (I assume) his first time handling that situation.

That putt on 18 was such horse**** though. Hit it right in the center, can't do it any better.

As I am fond of saying, the general public is so friggin' stupid it's not even funny. So who give's a rat's ass what they think. All that matters is what you and your close circle thinks, and sometimes they don't even get a vote.

As I said, you're 100% not at fault there, **** people (who have never worked hard enough to understand what you went through there) that possibly even question your reaction at that moment.

Again, NBC was awful with their coverage of an amateur event. They completely forgot it was a couple of 21 year olds playing over a week on their own dime in the most pressure-packed setting they have ever faced before. But nah, let's bitch about club selection and course management some more Koch.

It's certainly opinion vs. opinion here, but seeing as how one party has had full-time status on the web.com tour, that party is probably able to judge high-level talent significantly better than an internet random.

I agree of course, but on the flip side, that image of a "bad loser" could possibly hinder some opportunities/endorsements. Even if it doesn't have any effect as far as that goes, it still has to suck to have all kinds of random people basically 'leave your life' with that lasting impression. Not fair.

Anybody with a clue can rationalize his behavior given the situation and what had just transpired. I actually give MW a ton of credit for taking his hat off right away and going to shake his opponents hand. That showed a lot of class and I think most people who don't have **** for brains will remember him on that note.

Not if he is extremely biased in this situation. One thing we all know though.....Fox and Stads both have a hell of a lot better shot at making it then you or ship do right now. I'd even take me (23 yr old scratch golfer) over the washed up golf forum grinder who never could make it, so they now belittle every poster and let it be known they have superior golf knowledge.

Give me another year or two of professional poker and maybe I'll make my Dan Plan type of run. See you on tour in a few stads. See you around the forums Bo.

Not sure what the chances of me or ship has to do with anything here, was simply saying ship's experience gives him a much better understanding of who might or might not make the next level.

And since this is stad's thread, am not going to be drawn into a pissing match here.

This is not Stads thread actually....

Maybe you missed where I agreed that Fox has an absurd unlikely chance of a long successfull pro golf career. I'm also not too blinded to realize from a general perspective, the odds are stacked very high against Stads accomplishing that too. If your opinion is that Stads has a better chance, then I would agree too. I look forward to following both of them to see how they do.

For all I know Fox won't even have a desire to play professional golf after school, and may have another passion that he would like to pursue. The post earlier just rubbed me the wrong way and I think some of it was untrue/should of been worded different. They both came off like very good guys, and obv both have some high level of game (Yes even the hack that won the US AM). They should both be treated well and rooted for.

ship gave you a subjective assessment of Fox's game based on his years of experience playing golf at a high level (one that was similar to the announcers' assessment) and an objective one based on Fox's career stats on college level courses.

you responded by calling him names.

you are not even trying to have a discussion or back up your opinion with facts/stats.

if you just want to say mean things about stads, have fun. if you want to discuss stads' potential pro trajectory, hit up google yourself and see if he has better credentials or whatever. but personal attacks on an accomplished golfer and all around positive contributor to the forum is no way to go through life son

I never called ship a name ever....I was referring to Bo after his standard superior comment which involved me. I agree, personal attacks on accomplished golfers are not needed....INCLUDING ones about the recent US AM WINNER. I too think ship is an all around positive contributor.

But you are wrong about Ship. He said the guaranteed/no chance comment crap about Fox while knowing basically nothing about him or his game besides that he was weak/has bad swing compared to stads/ whatever his opinion was that he saw on TV that event. He even admitted this in his post. He then later apparently researched college stats and scoring avg. in the event to help support his banter.

fwiw I was done with it all until the Bo comment. I thought Ship calmed down and made it clear that Fox played well and deserved it etc., but that original post was just worded bad and came off bad. Tho I think it mainly was just him trying to say how much he thinks of Stads game and that he is a better player.

I''m not the one saying anything mean about Stads or any player for that matter. I was rooting Stads, and felt sickly bad for him when the putt on 18 lipped out.

Not silly at all, everything is relative. No reason why your CC can't be as important to you as the Am was to stads.

But I'm not sure if you'll get groupie love if you win.

My club championship is complete bulls*it. The guy who won the SENIOR club championship shot 63-68. That's -11. It's totally fair.
