Is it really that difficult to hit an iron from 150 and in? I can hit it fairly straight 70% of the time as a 16 handicap, are you telling me Tiger can't do it 99.9?

Doesn't appear that way, but then again making predictions one hole into a round isn't a great idea (unless they are about Ernie Els). If he could make a putt he'd be ahead by like ten.

They made some changes to the first hole to toughen it up. Seems like it's taking its toll on guys right out of the gate, although I have yet to see a hole ranking to verify this.

Rory is on fire (and made my earlier comment look pretty ridiculous.) He hasn't been in trouble much, and when he has, he's made some great up and downs.

If he throws some more birdies at the field today, he will be tough to catch.

Watson potentially making the cut (Tom not Bubba) is awesome.

Clarke and Tom Watson walking up the 18th. Would hazard to guess the semi-standing ovation was mostly for Tom, but it could have been for both of them.

Would have been great to see him make the putt but making the cut will work instead.

True. Despite anecdotal evidence (and plenty of documented interviews) that Sergio is a whiny bitch and a headcase, I would still love to see him win a major. He's suffered enough.

As much as I usually bitch about networks' sports coverage, I'll have to admit that ESPN has been really good so far about keeping commercial breaks quite reasonable.

Yes, a pleasant surprise. Not many commercials and lots of actual golf coverage. I think ESPN is even owning up to showing some shots delayed.
