Hey guys,

I've been looking around for a while for a spot to go on Christmas Break with my family, just wondering if anybody has any recommendations for resorts, or sites where I can find the best deals. Parents are in their 50s, I'm 21, brother is 25. Looking for a resort that is reasonably inexpensive ($4k or so for a 4-night vacation) for the 4 of us. Most likely just a place that is nice and relaxing, nightlife nearby isn't a huge issue.

If you have a recommendation for a site with the best deals, please post it. Thanks.

I am sure many are gonna ask were are you flying from?
I assume Detroit?

I like Punta Cana on the Dominican Side and a All Inclusive. Food is Good Beer (presidente) is fantastic

This site can give you some great reviews.

Not sure if you were including airfare. If not look at vrbo.com. You can rent condos/houses for pretty cheap.
My family - wife, my two kids, siblings with gfs, and my parents - 10 in total. We're renting a 5 bedroom house with two maids/cooks for under 4 grand for a week. There were smaller 2 or 3bdrm places in the dominican republic for about half - you do have to pay for the food cooked about 10. A person a day. We are staying near the ocean world resort/casino.

I saw places south of cancun that looked reasonable as well.

The vrbo site sucks for searching so I used site:vbro.com through google.

I've never stayed in the DR befre, but we rented a similar place without cooks on the med in france lkast year and it worked outwell

Hey pal,

Go to http://www.cheapcaribbean.com/. You can book a package with airfare and prearranged transportation from the airport.

I highly recommend the Iberostar resort near Playa del Carmen. It is about a 40 minute van ride south of Cancun near Cozumel. trip advisor reviews and photos. It has a great soft beach, nice pools, complimentary shuttle bus into Playa del Carmen and some corny nighttime entertainment, etc.

Let me know if you have any Qs.
