UK lets you stay 6 months as a tourist, for the rest of the EU countries it's 3 months (but the SCHENGEN area counts as a country so you can't hop around). once you leave you need to stay out for 3 months (or 6 for UK). so if you want to live in europe for years you need to be offered a highly skilled job or be rich and get an investor visa... but in your case(being arg) you might be eligible for citizenship if you have european grandparents

Croatia will be in the EU soon, so you should get that citizenship if you can.

yeah the see boarder solution beetween croatia and slovenia seems to come to an end and if the see boarder solution get solved it should get very fast that croatia become a member of the EU

it doesn't matter if they are still alive or not as long as you can prove they were citizens (i guess having their croatian birth vertificates or another document of theirs). at least that's how it is for other countries in the EU, you should probably call the croatian consulate/embassy in ARG to find out. and yes croatia is expected to join soon

EU citizenship is truly indispensable. You have complete access to every country within the EU without a passport. It takes a long time to get one. I started the process 3 years ago and it's likely to take another 1-2 years until I get one.

so if you are an euro citizen, to which country do you pay taxes to?
before you become an euro citizen, do you need to specify and choose a region that would become your main place of residence and pay taxes according to the country you've chosen?

no...i mean switzerland even joined the Uno until 2002...so Switzerland has only trading contract with the EU and dont want to get it in the EU (why should they?)

There is no "Euro citizenship".
There is only citizenship in the individual countries.


If you have citizenship in a country with full EU membership, this gives you the right to live and work in any other EU country without having to apply for permission (i.e. a visa). You probably still have to register with the local authorities, but that's just a routine administrative hassle that locals go through too.


Not sure how taxes work for a citizen of one EU country legally residing in another EU country.
