American who moved to Wellington 3 months ago here, since this thread has mainly been about chicks I will reiterate what others have said. I'm usually a fan of tanned blondes, but it seems like there are almost zero in Wellington, so far I've dated 5 chicks who have all been gingers or very pale brunettes, not really my type tbh, but you gotta make due I guess. So far it's a tossup who has the less attractive chicks, Wellington or my home state of Nebraska. There aren't as many super hot chicks in Wellington, but there seems to be a decent supply of 6s and 7s with the (very) occasional 8+. The positives are that they are very liberal regarding sex and they are all willing to pay for their own crap.
As §437 Nr. 3 alludes to, the lack of cool house music establishments in Wellington really sucks too.

Everyone says there's lots of work in Christchurch but I've never spoken to anyone that has actually worked there. I don't a have trade but I did some labouring work when I was in Oz a couple of years ago and would be happy to go down that route again.
I've had a bad experience with farm work (bugger all pay for hard work & dealing with ******* employers) so I'd rather not go down that route unless someone can recommend a good place to go.

if you are 30 or under at the time you apply it wont be a problem. you have 1 year from the date the visa is granted to arrive in nz so if you plan on going in january you may as well apply now.
