It does. As does Plymouth Rock in the U.S.
I'm not sure if an entire island can be considered a tourist attraction, but if so, I would include the island of Tahiti.
But not all of French Polynesia is underwhelming by any means. The islands of Bora Bora and Moorea are gorgeous. But speaking of Bora Bora, the "world famous" Bloody Mary's Restaurant & Bar on Bora Bora is both overrated and underwhelming.
Another underwhelming tourist attraction to me was Hot Water Beach on the Coromandel peninsula in New Zealand. It was a pain in the ass to reach, and then once there, there's really nothing to do but wait for low tide, dig a hole in the sand, and sit down.
