Couldn't even bust it last night. obv way to drunk. This morning was good though. Drunk posting etc.

Back to Bangkok today. Time to lay off the degenning for awhile way to much of it past few months. Gained 7 kilos a small beer gut, pink eye, and one case of clap and possibly other STDs that r unknown in that period. It was fun but I need a break!

To only somewhat continue off the Cambo thread discussion: I've only rarely ever received "great service", so I never feel pressure to tip. Chinese waiters are a slow-moving bunch with apparently zero peripheral vision.

I remember my first week in Thailand I was at a pizza company at one of the Tesco mini mall things. I didnt live near Suk and it was rare to see a farang in my area. I left like 80 baht as a tip because I'm American and the little pizza girl ran it out to me like i forgot money. It was almost difficult to explain to her i was leaving it for them.

I still tip more then i should esp if im drinking but im learning to get more with the culture and tip less and less as time goes on. I still overtip waitresses if i order like a 70 baht draft beer i leave 30baht more then i should at a gogo which im trying to break that habit. Its almost ingraved into my brain as i was a waiter for years and have always thought to tip good and treat service people well. After being here for years though I have learned to not tip as much as i once was a standard 17-20+% tipper but its just not the culture.

Another thing is alot of places come into place with a 10% service charge as is. My Gf now tips 10% if the service charge isnt on the bill if we go out. She used to never tip at all in these spots but i explained to her its good behavior esp in places we go to alot. Places with a service charge ive learned to now just not tip as its already in play. So i guess being in Asia is getting me out of my American tipping style that i developed from the culture and being a waiter but still feel guilty sometimes.

At Nagaworld in PP the beers are free. Let's say you order 5 or 6 over the course of the night at the poker table. They're kind of hard to flag down and also seem to have no peripheral vision, but once you order the beer comes out pretty quickly. You guys tossing the servers anything as a tip here?

Yup always tipping in this spot. Beers free and I want the servers to pay attention to me when I'm ready for my next free beer.

People in Denmark definitely live up to their reputation of being unfriendly. Not sure if it's intentional or just a characteristic ingrained in their society.

I mean they aren't full-on *******s bit they definitely aren't a welcoming bunch.

Likely the same in the rest of Scandinavia I imagine.

This is the most annoying thing about Naga. I tip a buck every beer and I drink a lot of beers at the table. So it's a guaranteed buck every time they fill me up and I have to hound them down like crazy for a refill. Makes me think they dgaf about the tip.
Always mind boggling to me...

Yea, I started off tipping a $1 a beer, but I never seemed to get any better service, so now I tip $1 every other time or every third time. Assuming they keep the tips, you would think $1 each time in freakin Cambodia would be a pretty damn strong incentive to provide good service....

Some people are just lazy or never have been taught how to give a good service

So I'm not the only one who has noticed servers who will stare at their phone or a piece of fruit or a spot on the wall (anything as long as it's not a customer) with laser focus.

If you don't see the work, there's no work to do. As a professional lazy I can totally relate to them

Yea they will serve one person at the table, not look around to see if anyone else needs anything and dart back towards the bar. If you're not very vocal you're outta luck.
