Thailand Visa Application Question Thailand Visa Application Question

Hey, I am going to Thailand in January, and want to stay for 3 months. I am filling out the Visa Application, and I am unsure what to put..

It asks Non-Immigrant Visa or Tourist visa?

The Thailand tourist is usually valid for three months from date issued, for a stay up to 60 days for tourist or 90 days for non-immigrant visa. The period of stay for both Tourist and non-immigrant visas may be extended upon application in Thailand.

this is for the site. I had to book round-trip tickets before you can get visa.

It also asks for # of entries requested. I know you can leave the country and re-enter via a "visa run". Im not sure if I have to account for this or not.

AND, it asks for my "Alien Registration Receipt Card No." Wtf is this?

Thanks!

get the tourist visa. you get 60 days + 30 day extension if you go to an immo office here. you don't even have to leave the country (like with a visa run). the # of entries means you can apply for a double or maybe even triple entry visa. basically, you just have to leave the country after 90 days. but you don't have to dick around in another countries thai consulate.

i've always booked one way tickets and i've never encountered any problems.

just ignore the alien registration card id. i have no idea what that is.

so mark down for tourist visa, even though im staying for 90 days? Since the tourist visa is only good for 60 days, does that mean I need to put two entries?

I just am not sure what to put down on the official document.

Tourist visa is good for 60 days PLUS you can extend for 30 days once in Thailand.

I also went one way and had no problems. You may want to do this at a local Thai consulate rather than online.

The tourist visa is good for 60 days upon arrival, then when you get here you can simply go to the nearest immo office and apply for an extension. So yeah, just apply for a single entry if you're only staying for 3 months.

And not leaving the country. If you're gonna make a trip out somewhere else in the three months you'll want to get the double entry.

Btw, has anybody ever gone to the Thai consulate in Laos or other close country? My visa is running out pretty soon and I can't decide if I should just get a stamp or try to get another tourist visa.

The tourist visa is only ever issued for a stay up to 60 days, so you may be able to apply for a 30 days extension – or your may need to make the “visa run”. Ask about applying for an extension as you enter the country, not at the last minute.

I have been emailing them, that was their response. They still don't directly answer my question.. wtf

He is saying tourist visa is never issued for more than 60 days. Im going for 90.

That means I can't do a tourist visa

But at the same time, it sounds like thats what I should geT???

If you get a tourist visa you can stay 90 days without ever leaving the country. once you realize you dont want to go home it easy to just leave on a 30 day visa run or hang out wiht whoiam in laos and get another 90 days. from what i hear, laos is pretty sweet i just kinda ****ed it up last time. either way, you can get another tourist visa there and whoiam isnt opposed to drinking and playing pool.

"Apply" is not what it sounds like. You go to the immigration bureau, fill out one page of information, give them some passport photos (which you can get taken across the street), pay them 1900 baht, wait ten minutes and go pickup your extended passport/visa. The whole process takes about 20 minutes once you know where to go. They even have a queue dedicated exclusively to tourist visa renewals.

Really simple.....you stay 90 days without leaving the country....take single entry tourist visa......like they adviced you b4 and after 60 days you get a 30 days extension in imigaration office(bangkok ,pattaya.Phuket and few more)Dont forget that extension 1900bath/30days.

you stay 90 dAYS but wana visit cambodia Laos or whatever take a double or triple entry tourist visa....Possible to get re-entry visa's on that as well but thats another story.(and prob not gone need that if you dont jump in and out of the country)

So i asume you stay 90 days without leaving just get the single entry its 100% sure it will do it whatever they tell you in consulate or embassy.I do live here for more then 15 years saw many changes in imigrationlaws and do know what the guys b4 me told you is right. Its not worth to aplie for non-imigrant visa iff you dont live here and anyway you gone need to show them alot of forms deposit money in the bank etc. so let that 1 go if you dont live here.

O and there is another option as well..iff you leave the country even for 10 minutes(visarun)you allowed to do this 3 time you dont need any visa and the visa on arrival will do it.In that case you have to leave the country after 30 days and by enter back you have another 30 days iff you do this 2 times you get your 90 days as well...iff you gone visit Cambodia or Laos anyway thats the best and cheapest option i geuss.ALL options are good depending on how you spend your time here.

Iff you need specific help feel free to PM me.

and lol @ 20 min for the extension if you do it in BKK calculate about 2 hours before you done but thats no big deal.

For Dire.
.Cambodia(phnomphen) anyway its my favorite alot of fun there gives you a double entry sometimes only 1 time granted tough depending how good he feels that day..But they do give you a warning if it is a 1timer.(red stamp)

Laos seems to give triples lately (its 2nd hand info tough)but source is good.

Maleisia. triple entry a bit far iff you not stay near the south and not much fun.

Goto your closest Thai Consulate and Request a triple entry TR (tourist visa).
the triple entry will allow you to stay (60+30)X3 thus 9months. After that you can shoot up to Laos or down to malaysia for another single TR for the last 3mos.

If they won't give you a triple entry then just get the doble entry. The hassle of trying to get a 1yr Non Imm O won't be worth it and most Thai emb/Consulates in US don't give them out easily. Even if you did get one you still have to leave and renter every 3mos just like the TRs.
