Hi guys, i want to ask you how much is the ticket from HKK to Phuket and do I need to book it in advance or it's ok just to go at the airport and buy one? thanks
02-29-2012 , 05:47 AM
hkk = hong kong? air asia is about 250$ if u book the same day, the earlier you book the cheaper

lol sry, i meant BKK, Bangkok
02-29-2012 , 06:23 AM
if you know when you are going it's obv way cheaper to book in advance. i don't think you NEED to book in advance this time of the year, just around new year

check airasia, nokair, bangkok airways, thai airways websites for prices (order roughly from the cheapest to most expensive

the problem is that i'm going to phuket, but want to see BKK for a few days, dont know how much exactly. If I like it mb i'll stay for a week. That's why i dont want to book in advance. Some guys told me that, if I go to the airport I can buy tickets for less than $60, is that true?

hard to believe you would get a last minute ticket for under $60. maybe $60-100 (2-3k baht) if i had to guess (never booked one at the airport)

Well, you run the risk of having to wait several hours, just showing up. I only had to do it once, but the price was way higher as well. I got a quote from one company, went to another booth to get another quote, and when I came back to booth 1 less than 10 minutes later, the price had increased more than 20% , because the plane was almost sold out.

If you want to leave at short notice, I would still book tickets by phone at least.

I havent looked in to entropay yet. I know WU is an option, and Party refunds the fee as well, (as long as the deposit is at least 200euro).
I just happened to have the funds in my MB, so changing them to baht and then back to $ would incur a lot of unnecessary fees, that I would like to avoid.
