Tasmania anyone ?

So I've just seen "The hunter" yesterday, it's been shot in Tasmania and i couldnt believe how beautiful the scenery was.

Anyone ever been there? Is it true about what we say about this island, is it still untouched and wild ?

I live here at the moment, feel free to ask anything specific you want to know. If your into nature then you will love the bushwalking, mountains and coastal areas we have to offer.

Re: Tasmania anyone ?

wow, 2+2 did it again, we really are from all over the world

Indeed i'm really into nature, i was contempling going to New Zealand and then I've discovered Tasmania... So i'll begin, were you born there ? Is it really untouched and wild as people say ? It seems you have everything, buswalking, moutains and nice beachers (Glass something, i heard it was unbelievable). Oh and btw, have you ever been to NZ ? If so how does it compare ?

Do you know if its as easy as main land Australia to emigrate there for a euro? I've nearly finished college and already looking for place where I could teach abroad, do you know if people study french over there ?

Ah and poker wise, how is it ? Same legislation than australia ? Taxe free ? Isnt the internet too laggy ?

I read this earlier http://www.latartinegourmande.com/20...-lile-oubliee/
It's a really nice read from a french couple perspective on Tasmania, his culture, food and scenery, its like an ad for your home ahah (its written in english so read it!)

thankks again

Re: Tasmania anyone ?

I spent 2-3 weeks hiking and camping there a couple of years ago. The scenery is awesome, lots of wildlife as well.

From a legal standpoint it's the same as anywhere else in Australia. Internet in mainland Australia was slow and expensive by European standards. It was even worse in Tassie.

Wineglass Bay?

I've just come back from New Zealand. Honestly, I preferred NZ. However, a lot of that will be down to the fact that the weather was better, I had more money behind me so I could do more stuff and the people I went round Tassie with were ****ing idiots.

One thing to bear in mind is that some of the attractions are pretty remote. We had a car so it wasn't an issue for us but I would assume that it's hard to get around if you don't have your own vehicle.

Re: Tasmania anyone ?

No internet poker down there cos they got no electricity yet. And it's cold man, damn cold.

Seriously though, it's just another state of Australia, so same laws for the most part. Internet will be fine, but I'm not joking about the cold.
