Thinking about making the drive from Toronto and have some questions.

-Is the park noticeably less busy on weekdays?
-Is the "Fast lane" ticket worth it? How much time does it shave off lines? It is appealing as I would like to do a lot of rollercoaster runs but my wife wouldn't so to maximize our time it would be nice to beat the lines
-Worth staying at the park/one of their hotels? If so which?
-Anything else to do in Sandusky?

Weekdays in August/September were always best when I used to go regularly. Basically wait until school starts again. Haven't been in a decade so can't offer more than that. Millennium Force still, for my money, the best steel coaster I've ever been on.

I grew up in Michigan and was a couple hour drive from cedar point. I've been there over 20+ times but havent been in like 5 years so could be off on somethings.

Yeah mid week is always best. Weekends suck. Going before school lets out for the summer or when school starts back up is the best time to go.

Yeah if you can financially afford it for sure worth it. It depends on how big the line is but its gonna save +30mins on each popular coaster minimum i think depending on how busy.

I think you may get a head start to a ride if you stay in the park not sure I've never done it. I found staying outside the park was good for me. They have gocarts/mini golf stuff like that. Nothing to fun to do in Sandusky that i know of outside of the point.

+1 on millennium force love that ride.

stay at one of the park hotels, any of the ones on or off site should do. there really is nothing to do outside of the point, dont know if you like waterparks but from my memory the one at cedar point is top notch.

So I sniped tickets for $29 last week during their pre-season sale or w/e

We're going up May 22 and will either stay 1 night or 2 - at the park. Probably Breakers. Will do the park on Monday May 23. Canadian Holiday, Americans in school. Perfect.

Staying at Breakers will get us in an hour early so we'll go and evaluate whether I actually need the fast pass or not. Even still, $80 seems incredibly worth it to me.

I'm seeing $31 meal passes that gets you entrees in the park separated by 90 mins. This has to be worth it right? Considering you eat twice it's paid for?

Yeah 31.00 meal passes is most likely decent enough value. Leaving the park and eating is another option but since you're on a first visit traveling from Canada I'd want to spend as much time on coasters as possible. I'd just get the fast pass its gonna be worth it.

I most likely will, but everyone says to wait until you get there. They never sell out, and on a Weekday I may not end up needing it

I rarely eat at places like that. Just always gorge myself after I leave.

Don't skip Magnum because it looks small compared to the others. It's a fun, old steel.

Excited for you; sounds like you got a great deal. I've been there over two dozen times, definitely worth a trip. Agreed with the above poster that it would be criminal to skip the Magnum.

Magnums great esp after all the newer rides have came out. You can just walk on it get off and ride it again. Still has a amazing drop super fun ride.

Will likely try and hit up all the coasters yes.

The only one I'm slightly nervous about and may not get to is the dragster

My buddy tells me it doesn't always make it up (due to weight calculations or something) which is not what I wanted to hear

Trip report that action. Are the magnum, mantis, and raptor still up?

Yeah down to hear a trip report. Think i heard the mantis got changed into another ride. Pretty sad if the raptor got taken away that ride was awesome.

Gotta ride the dragster bud. Its over fast but its sick.

I'll be trip reporting for sure. Intend on hitting up every coaster.

Plan is to be at the gate right at 9 (hour early for resort guests) and hit up Valravn, Maverick, Dragster (Gulp), Gatekeeper right away. Then, as park opens up to public, get Fast Lane if I need to hit the rest of them up.

I'm working on mapping out the park to hit them in a fairly logical manner

Does anyone know of a Park Map that is labelled or has a legend? The Map on CP website is not labelled whatsoever, not really helpful

Breakers hotel is awesome. Did some exploring. First time trying Whitecastle - had to see what all the fuss was about. Did not disappoint.



Beachfront, pools, restaurants all are solid. Ate at TGI Fridays. Doing the buffet at breakwater cafe at the other hotel.

Yea doing the drive-bys, Raptor, MF, Gatekeeper, Mean Streak and Valravyn look the most exciting to me

Mean streak is meh. Wooden and painful. There is some seat swing thing back by it I really like. Not swing you go back and forth facing the earth or straight up.

I am ****ing hype man. I haven't been to CP yet, but am a coaster junkie, so its on my bucket list.

No talking yourself out of Dragster

I'm in at 9am and hitting Valravyn and Gatekeeper straight away. After that, on our way to Millennium, if Dragster has little to no line, I'm doing it, regardless of how I feel. Can't pass up that opportunity

Yeah meanstreak is for sure one u can skip. Riding raptor(muliple times), MF, and dragster must dos IMO.
