Anything higher than 50/100 in Prague regularly? Ive lived here a while but play next to zero live so I don't know the casinos very well, only been to Ambassador, Hilton, and one other at Vysehrad.

WIN casino, but not every day though, there is a post with location in my blog...

At Hilton, you can suggest 100/200, they'll probably go for it, they loooove to strip (alleged) fish of its money ;-)

Pinkman, What were your thoughts on each place?

Stonemichael...
Where is WIN, is that new?

You seem weary to play against the Hilton crowd. I get it, they play professionally (anyone can call themselves a pro) and love to trap, maybe be agro and value you bet.

My takeaway was the czech regs.at leadt at the Ambassador, were just aggressive. I didnt think they were anymore talented than players elsewhere. Clearly they are better than most fish and as in amy cash game, you need a good bankroll to handle to bad runs.

What do you prefer tourneys or cash game?

https://goo.gl/maps/v9hsspuEjK42 it's a remake of older casino, but now there are different players, good CG regs.

About Hilton - I just don't like to play against regular sociopaths, also, I am not that good :-)

True, regs in Ambassador are not very good at 10/20, at 25/50 + 50/100 many of them are good but I agree with your opinion about agressivity.

Of course, I like CG, but it's too gloomy in Prague, regs are not fun. Rozvadov is great, Asch is fine, also CG after tournaments is more fun (Kajot, Haje).

In Brandys, there is good CG every Wednesday, good players, including Martin Hruby, a great opportunity to punish their pride. I did it with my fishlike approach, a good player could make a lot of money there.

50/100 is highest regular game in Prague, rarely you can find 100/200 in Win or elsewhere. But games often play very deep so 50/100 is higher than a regular 2/4USD game.

There are also big games at Sapa (Vietnamese Market) but not so easy to get there and they ban you if you're too tight.

Hilton I've been to several times and always thought it was fine, especially when they stopped smoking at the tables. I hate smoking so anywhere that allows it I won't even bother going. Ambassador I went to years ago and I remember the game being really good, but not worth the smoke.

As for the game quality, at Hilton it seemed to me that it was just typical live line ups. Lots of regs and randoms. Some solid and trying to win and others just spewing as a hobby. It's been a while since I've played live here but I do recall plenty of fishy losing players and the occasional mega whale.

Pinkmann,

Yes I'm willing to deal with the smoke. It is definitely an Eastern European thing that you can smoke at the tables in my opinion. I hear you, that it is gross.

Now where inside the Hilton is the poker room? Ive never been inside, but plan to visit on my upcoming trip. I hate looking lost..lol

I take it the Hilton is one of the nicer large Hotels, so the games are bigger due to more people having perceived money than other places.

I stayed at the Clarion Hotel which was next to KFC (V center one...I was just trying to differentiate to you the one I was at since there are a few Clarion hotels). Walked 1st day over to it then said F that and took taxis. Took the Metro once and was all kinds of lost..lol

I like the social aspect of live poker. Online, i feel too many bots and people play beyond super agro at small/medium stakes 0.50/1.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. This is the kind of info we like to hear. Stonemichael, other than your blog, sometimes a tourist like myself, might miss out on somewhere good to play, same with a poker enthisiast. I applaud your efforts.

I'm looking forward to my trip.

Thanks a lot, I am trying :-)

More about Hilton casino is at atriumpraguepoker.cz, however, besides taxi, there is some walking included (metro station Florenc, 200 meters but use a map, really :-)

Anyway, the entrance is from the lower parking, not through the main entrance up. At my photo of zombie fortress it's on the right, a little bit downhill.

Let me warn you, guys are no fun, they work there every night (not for the casino I mean).

Well, there was not much of CG action anyway. The casino was well managed though. And seriously non smoking :-)

So the Clarion by I.P. Pavlova? If yes, then yes you were ripped off. You should have been charged less than 150.

Always ask in advance how much the ride will be. If you want to order a taxi, I'd recommend the tick tack.

Thanks pinkmann. It was the clarion hotel on Tylovo namesti..oh Yea i.p. pavlova area.

Yea figured i got overcharged. I think I took a cab only 2 times without calling and it was in worst area possible (old town & ambassador). I had been up more than 40hrs str8, and aftet a.night of heavy drinking.

The 1st taxi, at ambassador, the floorman was like its 30 min wait..i had literally 10 mins to make my tour with my family. I essentially hijacked the cab, in that case gladly paid 300czk. Made it with 1 minute to spare. Then 6 hr walking tour was like death because I was beyond tired. After the tour was mostly done, I took taxi from old town to the hotel to sleep. I forget what my over charge was Probably like 4-500czk.

All othet times i had floorman at ambassador or hotel arrange the taxi.

I will definitly be more weary next time. I was the naiive tourist. I kept forgetting what exchange rate was too!

The guy from the youtube Janek(honest guide) gave tons of tips, like the correct places to get most fair excahnge rate. I thought it was very helpful.

I appreciate all the feedback and help.

Hadn't seen it but potentially interested as I haven't paid for accommodation....

I don't really understand it though. A single room is more expensive than a double? Is that assuming I'm sharing a room with someone random? (Not something I'm keen on doing, nothing wrong with meeting people but I can afford my own room...)

Also, The Hotel is the Carlton but the casino is in the Hilton?

You don't have to stay there, it's just a spare change in comparison you are playing with at the table.

In the past, the accomodation was in Hilton, this time it's somewhere else, who knows why, the casino is in Hilton. The organization is fine, not so many regs.

Overall the action is quite soft, I definitely recommend it.

More info and tips at my blog, there is a link in last posts or at previous page.

Great blog ...white the white wristbands to begin with? Is it required? Like can I take mine off...

Easiest way to deal with most regs in any casino (regardless of country) is to watch some hands and slow play or trap if they are aggressive. Once they think you are always trapping and always have it, you switch up your game and get aggressive back. You cant be a donkey or it will come back and hurt you, but now you have a table image you can exploit and they have limited history with you. Assume from tine to time the regs will try to call just to see your cards (get free info..never show ubless forced to.

Also never heard of poker travel...thanks for the link.
