Thanks for this link. There is a huge amount of apartments to be found here. Any bad neighborhoods in Krakow I should avoid?

Hey guys,

I just moved to Warsaw and the internet in our flat is quite ****ty and since I play MTTs I need stable internet
Do you know of any company that sells internet (usb)-sticks?
I don't think that I would need much data, just for playing poker and some streaming.
The price does not really matter if the internet is fast and reliable.

Would be really nice if some locals could help me out,

Cheers, BubbleNedRum

I'm looking to stay in Poland for a month starting in June.

I'm considering Wroclaw, Warsaw, Krakow.

Since I'm talking long(ish)-term, things like historical monuments lose their luster after a week. I'm talking quality of life. I don't speak a lick of Polish and would like an English-speaking communities with diverse interests (preferably with a solid nerd culture).

I've lived I Warsaw recently and i'd say is the dullest place I've lived in over the years. I hear Krakov is nice though.

You don't wanna wake up and see Putin's tanks driving down the road either for that matter...

Warsaw seems to have an expat scene that's a bit more my speed (board game club, pub quiz etc) while I can't find any of that in Krakow or Wroclaw through MeetUp.

Maybe those meetings are posted elsewhere in the case of Krakow and Wroclaw.

Oh man thanks pawel

Krakow definitely looks more appealing from a quality of life perspective than Warsaw. But I'm just talking aesthetics.

I played in one of the daily tournaments in Hit Casino, Warsaw with PLN 170 buy-in and finished 3rd for around PLN 950. Unfortunately at the cashier's desk they gave me only around PLN 750. They gave me some paper to sign in which gross and net amount were mentioned. Does anyone know what's the reason for this rip-off? Is it normal for Poland to take such large portion of the winnings (as tax, I guess?) If this is the case, no wonder hardly anyone plays live poker there.

Hi Fraxinus, I used to play at Hit casino a lot this year, and it's normal that they took 25% off your winnings for tax. It's a lot of tax to pay that's why I stopped playing there.

Hello! I played several times in the Hit Casino. Maybe I was mistaken, but Hit Casino's tax about 21-22 percent off a win .
