on a scale of 1-10 where would you rate the internets reliability? if you were at a final table of a tourney would you be at all worried that it might go out, or does that not happen often?

what internet company would you suggest, and what do you use for backup?

Normally its always been around 9 for stability, not rly fast but very reliable but lately (last 3-4 weeks),somehow it got pretty bad and we get disconnected a few times per week. Hopefully its just a temporary problem with the providers otherwise well have to go and find a solution.

Hey, my and my mate are thinking about setting up out there next year around Feb time. I was just wondering whats your total expenditure per month? like bills/beer/food/maid etc?

also were looking into a condo atm but if more people are willing to move out there for 6months-1year well look into setting up another place like this one

expenditures are around 1400-1800 usd/month everything included

I've been living in the house around 4 months or so and love it here. Decided to get a condo so my spot will be coming open January 1. I'd live here again in an instant

I think Andre had a typo above (Andre please correct me if i'm wrong) but total bills including rent (which is around $500 USD or a little less depending on number of guys in the house at the time), utilities, maid, cook, food, internet, maintenence for pool and gardener, etc.... total around $850 USD/month give or take.

Each room comes with a private full bathroom attached. The Maria Luisa area is beautiful and secure and the house is baller. It's a great intro to Cebu/Philippines with a great group of guys. I'm grateful to have lived here

Yeah I think Andrej has included beers and women in his price.

Its cool house I stayed there 4 months also. The guys are super laid back and theres cool community there as some of the other guys live in condos

I live in the house right now, but we are discontinuing the rent for a few reasons. Mainly because the internet is a bit better in the city, it's easier to get taxis and quite a few guys are leaving.

There is still a strong poker community in Cebu, we just live in condos and townhouses now.

FWIW, P20k gets you a nice 3-bedroom townhouse in Cebu. Ok, it's not furnished and you have to take a year long lease sometimes, but there are cheaper options for the non-high rollers.

how much would a decent (not baller, not to third world) furnished 1 bedroom cost in the city?

do you have any specific apt buildings to recommend?

There is a room available right now at the house until the end of the lease on February 21th. Perfect way to try out Philippines for a month. Rent is 23k(about 570 dollars) and you would be responsible for everything else. Message me if you are interested
