Poker mansion in Cebu, Philippines: Players wanted

Kumusta!!

We are 4 pro poker players who are renting a house in Cebu, Philippines, starting from tomorrow. We already have been here for 4 weeks now (arranging the house/maids/travel around). The house we are renting is a large 7br house with pool and a magnificient view over the Cebu hills (pics will follow in 1 or 2 days). Since we are 4 (maybe 5 soon), we are still looking for 1 or 2 extra members.

http://www.33ff.com/flags/XL_flags/Philippines_flag.gif

Why are we going there?
- Nice weather

- Nice beaches

http://media-cdn.tripadvisor.com/med.../cebu-city.jpg

- Low cost of living (~$1.5k expenses to live like a king here, which is our plan)
- Good base to start other Asian trips (Macau, HK, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, China, Thailand are all 'pretty' close)

What are we going to do?
- Play lots of poker
- Analyse together
- Travel/gamble to neighbouring countries
- Keeping ourselves healthy with sports and good food (cook)
- Party

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._4166896_n.jpg

Who are we looking for?
- NL100+ winners (or equivalent in MTT/PLO/...)
- Ready to move in asap
- Willing to party a lot
- Outgoing/fun/sportive/... personality

If you have any more questions feel free to ask here or PM.

Cheers

PS: Here is a picture of us 3 already, the 4th one is coming tomorrow.

The girls in that pic are Thai, I know one of them. Gonna have to see more pics of Philipino girls to confirm hotness.

Pics of the house will follow very soon, we move in 6 hours from now.
I wont bother googling stuff about PI girl, I'll just post a pic from last weeks party (friends I know who all study medicine school and me)

http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._7166438_n.jpg

Main difference for me between Thai and PI is the fact that people here all speak pretty good English (understable for low class people, perfect for mid class+).

There are 2 card rooms here afaik but haven't bothered testing them yet cause I dont like live poker too much. I heard from a friend that one is pretty low stakes (nl100 equivalent is the highest table). The other one has up to NL400, but only on a few days. Action runs pretty deep normally though. In Manila there are more higher games. When I was there on a Tuesday they had NL800 games running, minimum 100bb deep. In weekends they even go higher.

We are renting the place for 1 year, but if you can only stay for 6 months or whatever, we can work something out.

Love Cebu and love Philippines. OP, I just want your group to be extremely careful. Flaunting money in a place like the Philippines isn't as safe as it is in the first world. I'm not saying things are inherently dangerous, but please watch your back.

Meh, it isn't that bad as long as you do it in nicer places/areas and to non-shady (non-poor) people. I've seen lots of show-offs who have no problems.

Indeed Loosekanen, we know.

We dont appear too baller to locals. But it isnt too bad, we have been here for 5 weeks now and havent had any problem at all. We even went to some more dodgy places as well but certainly when you stay in the modern areas you'll be fine.

Some pics as promised:

I'll answer the most common questions I have received. I will wait 2 more days to start replying on the PMs so everyone can have a chance. After that we will approach 5 persons who sended the best applications.

We are all NL players ranging from 100 to 400 but we are fairly knew to the game. In here we will analyse a lot together and all aim for midstakes. Nationalities are Belgian, Czech (x2), Slovak, Bulgarian. We are all sportive, love to party, interested in investments/trading. We all have pretty similar interests.

For rent we pay 150k PHP a month which is $3.4k. So $560 if we get 6 people (which is the most lickely outcome). Utility+maid/cook should be an extra $100-$130 per person. We lease it for 1year but shorter stays are possible. We require from you that if you stay for 4 months or so, that you find another person who can stay in the house as soon as you leave. The lease terms are all taken care of by myself. I will just divide costs per month you are here, you can take a look in the contract as well ofc, I wont scam you. It is just the easiest way.

We have a lot of references on Pokerstrategy.com (don't know if im allowed to post here, but we also a very popular blog there). Can send it in PM, if not allowed.

Thats it for now, few more pics to follow tomorrow (in daylight).

I don't know the OP or his friends, but I have been to the neighborhood of the house (if it's by the Taoist Temple, which I believe it is?). It is very, very upscale with huge houses and gorgeous views. Likely the photos do not do justice to the actual house.

You should not be paying anywhere near that for a maid/cook. $200 max in total between all of you is enough.

Actually now looking at it, for a new maid coming from the provinces, some households start at 1500 php (about $30/month). If you get one already working as a maid in the city, probably more like 2500 php. If they do cooking, cleaning, errands, and actually have a lot of work you're looking at 5000 php. Drivers get paid a starting of 7,500 and a driver that has been around a while may get 10,000. These are manila prices, and cebu should be cheaper.

Well you probably know better than me, all I knew was it was way over what it should be. I'm always suspicious of these sorts of threads and guys potentially overcharging others to make their own stay free/cheap. I'd certainly be asking to see the rental contract for the house if I was considering staying there so I knew they were being honest with me. There's never a problem with them charging a bit more as they have put in the effort to organise it all, just as long as they aren't taking the piss.

We pay 4k for our workers each. We have 2. We have been told that electricity is really expensive here and when you have a high consummation it can go as high as 25k. So its like 35k, avg $100pp.

Its an estimation, we just arrived in the house. If you think that $100 for utilities and workers is a lot, you probably havent rented any. Electricity cost is pretty big here. Ofc all people who are gonna move in will check the contract+bills as well. That is really std and I'm not gonna argue about that.

If you don't trust us, just ask us for our references.

We didn't try the internet for playing yet. So far it seems kinda slow, but we will head to the mall today to buy the best one there is and use the current one as a backup. More news on speed/stableness soon.

The house is in Maria Luisa which is the leading secured village here in Cebu (from what I've been told).

My maid a few years ago was around 100P a day. Just adding to alex23, but why work for a couple bucks a day when u can just ask for hundreds a month and get it if ur the maid.
