i'm not real familiar with pattaya's internet, but a few regulars in the thread claim it's the best internet in thailand

Pattaya internet can be good or bad. We have a free connection in a place that has 50sqm 1br studios for 15k a month + bills and the connection is ok. Probably not suitable for grinding but fine for everything else. I do web development now and have no troubles using it. If you are having lots of skype calls though they drop out quite frequently.

That being said a friend downstairs has gotten his own CAT internet connection installed in his apartment and says its excellent. Never drops out randomly (he routes calls from Australia to his computer and says they never drop out) and would be perfectly fine for grinding.

Hey just stumble into that thread! I am leaving for Thailand with a poker friend next week. We are micros limits player (NL50) and we are mostly going there for vacation but we also want to grind a lot during the trip. He has to leave in the end of march but I plan to stay longer. Anyway, I just added you on skype so we can discuss a little more if you aren't set yet.

I've been living in Hua Hin for about a month. Like someone said above, if you haven't been to Thailand before, you're gonna think this place is awesome. But from what I keep hearing there're a ton of cooler places in Thailand. So far though, I love this place.

Im staying in Hua Hin / Cha Am right now, since my girlfriend is originally from there. Living in Thailand for abt 2 years now, lived basically all the time in bkk.

I think Hua Hin isnt a bad place to live as a pokerplayer, perfect for grinding, since there arent as many temptations like in Pattaya or BKK.
HH has a really good dining scene, loads of good restaurant, a couple of awesome hotelbars/lounges right at the beach. Like the Oceanside beachclub.
And it isnt that far away from bkk, I drive every week from BKK to HH, same like going to pattaya from bkk, so no big deal.

As OP said, its not that far away from the pier where u can catch ferrys to samui etc...


In which pricerange are you looking for a house/villa?

My girlfriends mom is moving to a new house next week and gonna sell the old one. I know that she doesnt has a buyer yet and it will probably take a few month to find one. So I could probably get you a lease for 2 month way cheapier that it would normally be, since she doesnt have anyone who gonna stay in the old house till she gonna sell it anyway.
Sick house in Palm Hill, not super balla, but pretty nice, like 1 1/2 rai big land. One big mainhouse, livingroom and dining area are about 250 sqm I guess + 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. There are 3 more guestrooms outside of the house, kitchen as well and a room which can be perfectly used as an office. Nice sitting area outside, perfect for bbqs, theres a pooltable as well and the pool has view on the lake in Palm Hills and its golfcourse.
