He yall,

I just found this thread....

I have been living here for over 6 yrs but from California.

I have played online for a while untill the Black friday issue. i read through some of your post. its cool to see a few regs out here.

I just recently opened a new pokerstars account and closed my old one. I also play on the iPoker network which is pretty soft compared to stars.

1) visa rules and regs change all the time as they decide how to get more money from tourism. at the moment a 3 month visa is all you can get unless you have a contracted job and the employer handles it for you.

2) online transactions to banks is a pain in the ass with HSBC but can be done.

3) putting money from the bank to the online site.... there are so many different regulations each bank enforces so it really depends. do you bank research before opening an account with ANZ or ACB or vietcombank oe HSBC or etc.

4) If you are a high stakes player or play full time and grind i understand the need to have a solid bank roll.... best if you just do one transfer from the bank to your account that will be enough to "be" your bankroll and not try to do weekly or monthly deposits to your online accounts.

5) I would love to get together and chat about things... i was in Vegas the last 3 weeks of the WSOP as a few of my buddies played the Main.

6) i am not a high stakes player at the moment because i lost by business here last year and just want to play some small sit-n-goes/ Mtt's. I do want to get $50 or so transferred to my new Pokerstars account so i dont have to BS with the banks at all. would be awesome if any of you would be willing.

Cheers Daniel

One more thing i saw in a post was asking about sending $$ via the "secret Network" of vietnamese to US and back.

I have done it $4K US BOOM!! no problem took like a few days and a dude showed up at my door with a wad of like $50k... counted it off.... and had me sign a small document type reciept and show passport ID for a photo confirmation.

It was fast and very low fee compared to getting jacked by the vietnam banking system.

I have been here a long time so any questions...... shoot! am happy to answer.

Your posts sound like a scam. and lol it super easy to transfer money from stars to hsbc as a matter fact you don't have to do anythign except put in your bank numbers. only thing that suck is the fee around 50. and as long as you are a foreigner you are allow to transfer by bank wire outside. I am pretty sure that the whole point of HSBC asking me questions about my job is to make sure it legit source, not an attempt by me funneling local money outside. I honestly doubt they care they i even play poker

Scam.... whatever dude... if you want to pay all kinds of fees fine then.... i have lived here for 6yrs and shut my HSBC account down after they started charging all kinds of crasy fees like min. balance fees, atm card fees etc.

I am not a high roller.... i am a yoga teacher that likes to play small stakes.

thats all. dont get your panties in a bunch dude. LOL!

am trying to watch the WSOP main final table but feed is jacked up. any streams you know of?

Ok so what the previous poster mentioned, the amount of money your able to transfer is very small. I never used a 3rd party middle man before and they are limiting me to 250 for 60 days which is laughable.

Working to get it increased.

Also looking to ACB banking , will report results.

@djle2.....I will also try out ACB's new mastercard and see if it works. i only play smal stakes now so $50 or $100 here and there should be no problem. if you are high stakes player its a different ball game.

post your results.... i am curious.

Cheers

Struck out on ACB. They recently opened a branch in Tra Vinh, no charge for the card while Sacombank charged me 150k vnd. Was very fast service at ACB, got the card in 15 minutes while at Sacombank Tra Vinh took a week. So, as of last yr, Sacombank and ACB were supposed to work, they do not now.

Trying Entropay since I read it is possible. Did research on them and they seem ok enough. Nothing beyond the normal complaints but have some competency issues. They do have a 5% fee which is =/ but I guess I have no choice.

This truly sucks, all I need is like 1,000 on there and hope I don't run bad. Anyone interested in doing a trade? Cash for money on PS. Any ideas how this can go horribly wrong....=/

For hotels i advise just looking at tripsadvisor. Most hotels on dist. 1 are good and are build pretty much the same. a good location would be Pham Ngu Lao where all the expet stay at. it can be noisy at night though. most hotel have decent internet that are good enough for playing.

yeh have looked about the net but the problem is they all have wireless net and there is no way of telling if its any good. the people that review them seem to talk about food and staff friendliness rather if i can have 25 games of poker running on their net will book something for one night and see how it is. got an ethernet cable in my backpack so will find somewhere with wired net which is more reliable. dont mind paying a little bit as i plan on grinding and not doing much for a few days until i see my sister having blown a lot more money in thailand/australia the last few weeks.

thanks for your input. always appreciated

Unless you have access to a hard wire outlet, expect disconnections. I've yet to play a full session without getting dropped at least once @ cafe/hotel lobbies.

hey guys,

looking to travel to vietnam in middle of december for 3-5 days with a friend. Where do you recommend we stay? fly to ho chi minh or hanoi? I'm just looking for a chill place. Experience vietnamese culture. Preferably near a beach or somewhere relaxing. Currently living in macau. So something different would be nice.

I remember going to haiwaii. best vacation ever. good food, beach, learning to surf, and jet ski ing. was a blast. looking for a similar experience.

Thanks!

Finally found a way to deposit money into pokerstars. Pretty much no limit. PM me if you want to find out how. Its no secret or anything but PM me.

I never been to Hanoi and I probably never will. I hear a lot stories overall that it isn't really a place to be. Everyone's mileage will vary of course but I hear way more discerning things than good things when it comes to Hanoi.

I cant really add much else except I like beaches also and all the beaches here are pretty much the same and boring. I just like to relax with the ocean breeze and sound. Great cheap seafood. You prob get ripped off if your not careful when you buy seafood though. When u buy stuff with no price on the seafood menu. Ask for the price and to see it get weighed. If you don't and your a foreigner they will cheat you. Have fun.

As a visitor for 3-5 days Hanoi blows HCM away and it is not even close. That is common knowledge. HCM may be a nicer place to live and have better night life but Hanoi IS Vietnam. One of, if not the coolest city in all of SE Asia to wander around in

Yeah, we did go. Loved it there. Au Lac Brazil was very good too. Don't think we had a single bad meal in HCMC. Thanks again!
