From my understanding, its a tournament 200k buyin which gives you a free drink with one rebuy option for 200k with no drink.

I havent gone yet but i get the feeling they take a lot of money out the pot. If you win you get a gift certificate. Prob fun for those who are interested.

There are pictures of their last poker event if you look around.

This time around I been in VN for just over a year and just discovered Mogambo's.

I've forgotten how a burger is supposed to taste like and one at Mogambo's is like sex between two soft warm buns. Thought I share to those who may not know.

Maybe others can share other places that serve great western food...

I also love Scott and Binhs but I hate going to district 7

Hey!

I will be coming late August to vietnam to work for at least 3 months. Anyone got a spare room, or maybe advice on how to go about renting a room in vietnam ?

Like big deposit required, or sth I should be aware of that is different from Europe ?

Thanks in advance!

for 3 months your best route would be serviced apartment or hotel. minimum stays for houses/apartments is usually 6-12 months and would require 1 month deposit and 2/3 months in advance for rent.

Trying to travel from Hoi An to Hanoi by either train or plane from Da Nang. Budget is a bit of an issue so does anyone have any recommendations on the best place to buy tickets? A few people have mentioned it might be cheaper in a travel agency than online. We don't have long to sort out travel so any advice would be class.

Cheers

Option 1 : plane from Da Nang
you should be able to research this yourself.

Option 2 : train Go to Da Nang by taxi or bus and book early to get what you want. Should be around 50 bucks per person for a soft sleeper. 15 hr trip i believe.

Option 3 : Bus. cheapest and most uncomfortable of course but if budget is an issue, its not really bad. Go to the area in Da Nang where you can buy bus tix, they will be able to sort it out for you to get where you want. Off hand i think its Da nang to Hue than Hue to Hanoi. Don't quote me though.

Option 4 : rent a taxi/car
You can rent a driver and car. No idea how much this would cost from Hoi an/Da Nang to Hanoi but you can ask around.
Good luck

Hey Guys,

Just got to HCM city from Phnom Penh. Anybody feel like meeting up this weekend I'd greatly appreciate the opportunity to ask questions to an online pro here in person, as I'm researching which Asian country to grind from. I've been checking out Thailand, Cambodia, and have now arrived to tour Vietnam a bit.

Was the visa a hassle to get before arrival?

visa easy but u need to get one before you arrive as they are not issued on arrival unless you have done it through one of the online agencies. u can get one from a vietnamese embassy in your country or one of many travel agents in thailand and cambodia if you are visiting there beforehand (takes about 3 days from thailand and can get done in 2 days in cambodia). you can also apply online with an visa agency and collect it in the airport though u will be standing about the airport in a queue for an hour as they seem to process this type of visa very slowly.

after your initial visa you can stay a further 8 months without leaving the country (2x3month extensions and 2x 1 month extensions). these can be done at many travel agencies. after 9 months you can do a visa run and start again

I'm moving to VN tomorrow. I'll be there soon.
Grinding, making paper and other catch phrases +EV and more poker slang.

Actually, forget poker. I have a job and I have business ideas.

Cheers,

D.Lovelee-

Is your business idea to sit on a corner and offer marijana or boom boom massage? If so I think somebody stole your idea...

hey guys point of note. nobody with viet ip can play in same sng including 180s no matter what nationality you are. ****ty policy from stars but if a lot of grinders move there it could be problematic for hourly rates. there was only one small grinder when i was there who only 4 tabled which was all good. also business wise good luck, seems good on paper but so many mates tried and could not handle the rigmarole but all the best. genuinely hope it succeeds.

Damn scroosko that sort of kills any ideas I might have to move here. Unfortunate. Maybe I could...do something technologically...that makes it look like I'm not playing in Vietnam?

I would avoid bus at all costs in Vietnam. The bus drivers are suicidal and spends about half the time on the wrong side of the road. Also they honk the horn all the time, so you will not be able to sleep.
