you need to go into santander and tell them you'd like to setup wire transfers with a US bank. They give you a paper with their info on it, you go to you're US bank, make the wire, confirm it with santander, and then you are able to link the accounts. You can probably do this the other way around as well
I'm not sure about this. It would be great if it is possible, because going into Santander can be a bit tilting. I was told at Santander that you must go in every time you want to send a wire to the U.S.

What were your fees at various points during the transaction and overall?

sorry for turning into banking thread...but nobody pays attention to that anymore anyways.

Rafael told me the same about coming in to do the xfers. Possibly if I xfer FROM santander TO a US bank, then I will have control of both accounts through my US bank. I'll update in 2 weeks or so, (banking thread as well) as I plan on linking MX and US accounts and sending wires to and fro. that's right, fro.

I don't know what Santander is going to charge me to send the wire. I'm going to guess @$30. My U.S. bank doesn't charge for incoming wires. Moneybookers charged me $2.45 or something.

Def. the best way to get money off other than trading. I hate going to the bank tho. I think the older female teller at Santander really dislikes me.

I'm trying to get more info on how it all works. Seems like MB -> Santander USD is best, but does it work? I assume you can just walk into Santander and get money wired back to the USA no problem?

Success!! Been hard to find anyone getting $$ off this way (or any way) for low vig, good to know it's doable from Mexico. That **** adds up pretty quickly.

This would be awesome if true - does he mean by walking into a branch of your US bank or initiating the wire online?

Yep we play tennis down at Palacio Del Mar, there's a court on the property.

I'm maybe a 3.5.

Hello everyone!

I'm hoping to move down to Rosarito ASAP to restart the grind after taking the last 8 or so months off. Anybody down there have any rooms available? I plan on splitting time between there and the LA area so I don't really want my own place.

Bolivar posted about having one, and I'm waiting to hear back because that sounds ideal, but if anyone else is looking, too, shoot me a PM.

I'm a PLO and PLO8 specialist, MTTs and SNGs mostly, and have used poker as my main source of income for the last 8 years. I'm pretty mellow though tolerant of most living styles.

Cheers,
Matthew

Curious; does anyone have or bring in a bike? (Were they taxed?) What does overall usage look like in the area? Anybody checked out the prices at Walmart? A fair selection, if they even stock them? Via google, only info I've found for local bike-shops in proximity is http://www.freitasbikes.com Anyone been there? I don't ride... Imagine I'd work it into my off grind hours. Wondering benefits or cons of bringing, buying, or owning a bike in the area. Are shops/parts closer than TJ... I'm sure someone might of seen something in their travels or those that know the local areas & shops well. I'll research all the various laws & whatnot on my own, but most grateful for any knowledge obtained thus far. Thank You.

Are wires the only way to do this? I've heard people say there isn't much in the way of mail, so sending a check to your US bank like I was doing from Canada must be out?

I'm thinking maybe I will just keep my USD account in Canada that moneybookers is linked to and just try to find a different way to get pesos. Stars got the echecks up and running for CAD around July, hopefully there is a similar pesos withdrawal method, echecks is by far the best.

chillin balcony style. things could be worse obv.lol.

for the guy asking about bikes...
i thought about a that and after seeing the driving habits here, a bike is a real bad idea unless ur driving it to a trail or sth just for fun imo. not a good everyday mode of transpo from what ive seen. would be a scary ride. i love adrinaline and near death experiences, but like to be in control of my own destiny.lol.

Thank You "Nameless" for the heads up on the biking situation... Any others risking their lives or have thoughts on the subject? (Willing to ride or use a bike for transportation?) Or anyone braver; & stepped up to a dual-sport or motorcycle? From what I hear of the roads via this thread, it sounds somewhat hazardous to ride... Are they seen around town? Is the driving really that bad throughout or just on Mex1 in town? I recall reading that there is an auto-body shop on every corner?

I really wouldn't feel safe riding even a motorcycle here. People just can't drive very well at all.

I see plenty of people riding around on bikes, and tons of motorcycles here as well. They have huge 50km bike rides here a few times a year from rosarito to ensenada, and I've seen big biking groups riding around in tijuana as well. I can't imagine any reason to be worried about safety riding around in rosarito, its a small touristy beach town with pretty mellow traffic at most times of the day. if ya scared go to chuuuch

anyone run into the problem of needing a MasterCard SecureCode and/or RFC code to cashout from MB ---> Santander?!

I've cashed out before with no problems. Calling moneybookers they say it's MasterCard's problems, not theirs. RFC code = mexican taxpayer ID. wtf?!
